Since the accident:
4 months 7 days
April 14th, 2010For Ryan Blake work at the station had been slow tonight. Barely any calls had been made and if any had been called in they were given to someone else.
He didn't mind though. He needed nights like these every once in awhile to cool his head.
He leaned back in his chair and let out a long sigh as he looked up at the ceiling. The muscles in his arms tightened as he rested them behind his head. Strong arms like those could make anyone take a second look. Blonde hair and blue eyes along with muscles could attract anyone's attention. Especially if they though he looked like one of this suffer types that everyone seemed to be so into in the city this past year.
But Ryan Blake didn't care for the spotlight that people put him into. He didn't care for his looks or what people thought of them.
Ryan Blake, if anything, was a kidder. He loved to smile and make others smile along with him. He knew feeling sad was a part of life, and so was being angry too. But he wanted to spend as much of it as he could with a smile on his face or a skip in his step.
The past two days had been crazy and a day like this was a breath of fresh air and was able to put that relaxed smile back onto his face instead of a stressed and kidding one.
"Hey Blake." Ryan turned to look at the officer across from him. Officer Dannings was looking from around her computer screen.
Her piercing grey eyes looked to his desk as she waited from him to move into her vision. Her dark skin enhancing the color of her eyes. Her black hair held tightly in a bun that had become slightly unraveled as she nervously had pulled at it as she worked. Her long, slender fingers tapped silently against the desk as she worked.
An air of sophistication and grace surrounded her. She was a force to be reckoned with, in and out of the station, as she had a fiery soul and a big heart.
Delilah Dannings gaze was questioning as she met Ryan Blakes curious eyes. "Have you looked over the reports for that accident?" She asked as she leaned slightly forward onto her desk.
Ryan picked up the folder on his desk and handed it across the table. The folder held the printed case file with all of his notes on possibilities and questions for the case. Dannings smile at him as she took the folder from his calloused hands into her rough but soft ones. "Thanks." She said as she jokingly saluted in his direction.
He smiled. "No problem. Anything I can do to help out the investigative team."
They again sat in silence as Ryan Blake listened to the ringing of office phones when he had started to lean back in his chair to take a nap. Delilah had gone back to typing on her computer. She opened the folder to start taking his notes and scenarios into account when she spotted a bright sticky note on the left side of the folder.
She read the sticky note a few times, knowing full well who's handwriting it was as she leaned back over to look at Officer Blakes desk.
"Who is Cassandra Williams? You have a sticky inside the folder of her name but it doesn't pertain to the case." Dannings questions which snapped Ryan out of his daze and causes the officer to sit up straight in his chair.
Suddenly, a reminder in his head clicked. He remembered that young woman, Cassandra Williams the other night after the accident.
