I looked at my friends and smiled at them, possibly for the last time ever. We graduated today. No, not from highschool, no, also not from college but from grade school. It's a big deal here, in the Philippines, but not to other places probably. Some of my friends were transferring to better schools like Manila Science High School, Diliman Preparatory School and other prestigious schools. Most were 13 and twelve. I turned 13 just a month ago. Yes, I'm young, but in the Philippines, we consider 10 year olds practically adults. Most kids even start dating at 10, which I certainly does not approve of. I actually plan to have my first boyfriend or girlfriend once I'm at least above 15.
Now, enough about dating and kids. Let's talk about what's happening today. So it's 7:15 PM already and today, we graduated and my best friend and I will be going to the Fifth Harmony concert which will start at 8:00 PM. The venue is in another city and it's quite far so I'm just very very very worried if we'll be able to make it there in time. I'm the Harmonizer. Sandra, not so much.
"Y/N huwag ka muna umalis, picture muna tayo!" (Y/N don't leave yet, let's take a picture first!) said Amanda, one of my closest friend, she's going to the concert as well, you know, since she's a fake fan and all. Oh and by the way, we study in a very prestigious all girls school in Quezon City, and most kids here are either bisexual or full on lesbian. I'm in the first group.
"I can't! I need to find Sandra and my parents! I have a concert to go to remember?" I told Amanda. Amanda looked sad but nodded anyway. I looked around to see if my parents are near because they have my bags that I'm bringing in the hotel and at the concert. "I-photoshop niyo nalang ako sa pics," (Just photoshop me into the pictures.) I added just for humor. No one laughed, sadly.
I walked around the huge lawn and the buildings that the school has for the grade school department. It was hard to find anyone because it was already dark and I can't really see that properly. "Y/N/N!" my dad called. I turned around and saw my parents walking towards her. I said hi to them, got my bags and went off to find Sandra, with my parents trailing behind me.
I checked every restroom available because Sandra would probably be in one of them, changing clothes to get ready for the concert. I went to gate 3, where I saw Sandra's mother fixing her makeup in the restroom. "Andito po ba si Sandra?" (Is Sandra here?) I politely asked Sandra's mom.
"Ah yeah she's changing in one of the stalls. You can change as well, because we're running late," Sandra's mom, Pinky, told me. I nodded and went to one the stalls. "It's wet there, you can change here," Pinky said, pointing to a door which said off limits because the toilet was broken. Yeah, it's a five star school but it has shit bathrooms and homophobic teachers.
I changed hurriedly into my The 1975 shirt and a pair of jeans. I figured I would just change my shoes in the car on the way to the arena. I got out and followed Sandra and her mom into their car, but we bid goodbye to my parents first. "Thank you for adopting my daughter once again," my mom told Pinky.
Pinky laughed, "It's okay, you're welcome." It was awkward and funny for me to see my parents interacting because my parents are antisocial people, I swear.
Anyways, the three of us went to the car and got ready. Sandra's dad got us burgers and water for the ride since we haven't eaten anything since 12:00 noon. I changed into my black Converse and out of my black school shoes. I looked for my phone after that and couldn't find it. I might have left it back in school. Everyone was starting to panic because I need it to contact my mom. I looked everywhere. Except the front pocket of my bag. I worried Sandra and her family already and then apparently it was just in my bag. I then apologized to everyone and ate my burger in silence.
As we were driving, we passed by this hotel called Sofitel. It's where we were staying. And where Fifth Harmony is staying as well. Most artists who have concerts here stay there. But some also stay in City of Dreams because it's a hotel that sponsors for concerts in MOA Arena as well. One time, Sandra and her sister was exploring Sofitel and saw Sam Smith. Sam fucking Smith. It was in this sort of secret passage way that nobody sort of knows about. So they got pictures and stuff. Okay, so you might be asking how I knew about Fifth Harmony staying in Sofitel. It's definitely Dinah's fault. How come? She posted a picture of herself in her hotel room. But I've been to Sofitel before and I know what their rooms look like. And she posed right in front of the balcony. She also had pictures and videos of them in the private party rooms in Sofitel. The first thing I noticed about Dinah's picture is the carpet. I sent the picture to Sandra and asked if it was indeed Sofitel. And she replied with a yes. But just to be sure, I checked Sofitel's pictures and confirmed that yes that is a hotel room and a private room in Sofitel. I'm not a stalker. Nope. Not at all. So I made Sandra promise me that we'll go there in the morning to wait for them if we make it. But I'll remind her just because. "Sandra bukas ha. Maghihintay tayo ah." (Sandra tomorrow. We'll wait, okay?)
