You looked around anxiously as you walked into the police station. You took the elevator up to the second floor and pulled your jacket closer to your body. When the doors opened, you saw a glass door with the words 'Special Victims Unit' on it. You quickly walked to the door and opened it, overwhelmed by the amount of people running around. Nobody seemed to notice at you and it made you wonder how often a woman walked in here in ripped clothes and a bloody face. You walked up to the closest person and tapped them on the shoulder. The guy turned around and you felt your breath get caught in your throat; he was about your age, maybe older, and gorgeous. "Ma'am, are you okay?" He placed a hand on your arm and you flinched. "I-I was raped." You whispered. He looked you over and quickly ushered you into a room. You noticed it was an office and a woman was sitting behind the desk. He guided you to a chair and you sat down. He quickly took off his jacket and wrapped it around your shoulders. You thanked him and he sat down in a chair beside you. "Carisi, who is this?" The woman asked softly. You flinched as she looked at your appearance. "I'm not sure, Sarg. She walked in here a few minutes ago and I thought it would be best if she spoke with you." He said softly. She looked at you. "I'm Sargent Benson. What's your name?" You looked over at the guy that you now know is Carisi and saw him give you an encouraging smile. "I'm (Y/N)." You looked back at the woman. "And I was raped." You said before breaking down into tears. She stood up and walked over to you. She placed a comforting hand on your arm and you flinched. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, it just really hurts." You whispered. She looked over at Carisi, who stood up and kneeled down in front of you. "(Y/N), we need to see your injuries." You looked at him before taking off his jacket then yours, revealing your torn shirt, the gashes on your arms, and the bruises that not only covered your face, but the rest of your body as well. "Olivia," He whispered, his voice filled with pain and his eyes full of sorrow. She stepped outside and you heard her call for an ambulance. You saw black dots start to appear and you felt light as air. "I'm not feeling to good." You said before passing out. When you woke up, you saw you were in a hospital. You looked around and saw Carisi sleeping in a chair next to you. You tried to sit up but groaned in pain. Carisi woke up and looked at you, a smile growing on his face. "You're awake. How do you feel?" He moved closer to the bed. "Like I've been hit by a bus." He chuckled a little. "Do you want me to get the nurse?" He asked while starting to walk away. "No!" You grabbed his hand. You blushed before letting go. "I'm sorry. I just don't want to be alone." "I understand." He said before taking a seat and grabbing your ha d again and pressing the nurse's button. A nurse walked in and checked up on you. "How do you feel, Miss (Y/L/N)?" "I've had better days. How bad is it?" The nurse looked down at your chart. "You don't have any broken bones, but you have a lot of bruising and a few cuts. You should be free to go home in a few hours." She gave you a smile before walking out. You looked over at Carisi and saw him clench his jaw. "Carisi?" He looked at you and his face softened. "Please, call me Sonny." You smiled. "Is there anybody we can call to take you home?" You shook your head. "My parents disowned me when I turned 18 and I don't really have any friends." He squeezed your hand. "I'll drive you home." "Thank you." For the rest of the case, Sonny was always by your side. Whether it was when you were giving your statement or getting ready to testify in court. They had found the guy a few days ago and you were asked to testify. Sonny was staying at your place for the night, and you were happy he was. You had been receiving death threats for the past few days and you were starting to freak. "What if I can't do it?" You asked softly from your couch. Sonny walked out of the kitchen and sat next to you. "(Y/N), you are the strongest woman I have ever met. That psycho who did this to you, is going away for life with your testimony. He's never going to hurt you again and I'll be there the whole time. Just look at me and nobody else, okay?" You blushed and leaned your head on his shoulder. "I don't know what I would do without you, Sonny. Thank you, for being there for me this whole time." He ran his fingers through your hair. "I would do anything for you." He whispered. You looked up at him and you felt your breath get caught in your throat. He was so close and you saw he was looking at your lips and back up to you. You nodded and he closed the distance between the two of you. You felt sparks fly and butterflies erupt in your stomach. He kissed you hungrily and you felt your face heat up. You straddled his lap and wrapped your arms around his neck. "Wait a second, (Y/N)." You pulled back and looked at him. "As much as I'd love to take this a step further, we shouldn't." You looked at him. "Is it me?" You asked quietly. His eyes went wide. "No! No that's not what I meant. I meant we should wait until after the trial before we do anything like this. They'll look for anything to hold against you and I don't want you to get hurt more than you've gotten already." You smiled. "Okay." He smiled back and kissed you once again. "I love you, (Y/N)." You felt your heart skip a beat. "W-what?" He brushed his hand against your cheek. "I know that we've only known each other for a few weeks, but I feel a connection with you. That probably sounds creepy, but I feel like we were supposed to meet; like we were supposed to be together." You smiled and rested your head on his chest. "Me too, Sonny. Me too." He stroked your hair and you felt safe for the first time in a very long time.
