Chapter 21
The following week of school dragged by extremely slow. Nothing much had changed, apart from Brooke getting a job in a clothes shop in town to try and help pay off the credit card debt. All I did all week was sit in my room studying, eating and sleeping. Things were still complicated with me and Aaron, but on the plus side, Jason and Peyton were pretty much back to normal. Turns out she did ditch school to go see him and he ditched because he was avoiding her and being such a guy by hiding in his cave! But all that was over. Also, i had another date with Luke tomorrow but I was also seeing him tonight, considering it was 'friend night Friday', and we were all going skating for a change. The bad thing about Luke being there tonight was the fact that I couldn't ice-skate to save myself!
"Oh, Ebbs, I'm kind of picking up Peyton tonight to go to the rink, but I'm leaving early, if you know what i mean. Could you-" Jason started, but I cut his sentence short when I got the jist of what he was implying.
"Ew, spare me the details! I'll ask Brooke to pick me up if she's not taking Jess." I answered.
"She's taking Jess, I already asked. But why don't you ask Luke to take you? I'm sure he wouldn't mind, considering all the things he's been saying about you." He said, waggling his eyebrows.
"What? He's been talking about me?"
"Sure." He stated simply.
"Saying what exactly?" I urged. Settling back into my seat and waiting for him to begin telling me.
He rolled his eyes at me. "Well I can't tell you, can I? That would mean I was a bad friend!"
"Really? You're not going to tell me?" I asked.
"Of course not. Now, get out of my car! I need to go get perked up for tonight!"
"You're such a douche, honestly! But I am glad that you and Pey are back to the same annoying and loved up couple that you are." I said sarcastically. I leaned over to pinch his cheek with much more force than necessary. That's what he gets for not telling me!
"Ow!" He squealed. A devilish look appeared in his eyes so I quickly jumped out the car, slamming the door shut behind me and running full speed to my house. I saw him laughing when he shut his car door, just before I fetched my key out of my bag and entering the front door, slamming it behind me for good measure.
I ran up to my room, threw my bag on the floor and made my way to the shower. Once I finished, I put on my fluffy pick house coat and made my way over to the window to close the curtains so I could get dressed without feeling paranoid. I knew nobody would have looked in, the only person who could see straight through was Aaron and he wasn't a sick pervert like that. I was just about to draw the curtain over when I noticed Aaron sitting cross-legged on his bed and staring at his phone with a sad expression on his face. He looked so vulnerable and it made my heart ache. I sighed but pulled them closed anyway.
Two seconds later, my phone bleeped from my bed. I picked it up and opened the new message from Jason. It said: just spoke 2 luke. he said he wld pick u up at 7 and he will fone u later.
I sighed again, could I not make my own arrangements?
I let my hair dry itself, leaving many ringlets framing my face. I added a bit of foundation, liquid eyeliner and a coat of mascara before pulling on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, a white t-shirt with a simple winking face made with blue gems and pulled on a light grey hoodie.
My phone rang whilst I was making myself some cheesy pasta, so I turned the hob off and skipped to the couch to answer it. "Hello?" I said happily through the reciever.
