Chapter 26

I tried to look anywhere but Aaron even though I was failing quite miserably. Each time I took a peek a lump would raise in my throat and a bead of sweet would drip down the back on my neck. How could I be so nervous around him? It might have something to do with me being overwhelmed sitting in a car with there absolutely sh-tunning males. But then again.. It could just be Aaron.

"Dude, she doesn't talk much." Corry said to Aaron, catching my gaze from the rearview mirror. I looked away quickly.

Aaron just 'Mm' -ed in reply. And looked down at me. "You okay?" he asked, worry crinkling his forehead.

Probably not, but I have the urge to lie. "Yeah. Fine." I smiled a convincing smile but he looked at me with an expression that said 'as if, I'll find out anyway.'

Tyler turned in his seat to look at me. That boy was creepy. He looked much like Aaron but his hair was darker and longer and he had a black hoop piercing at the corner of his bottom lip. "So where do you stay?" he said softly. Wow, that wasn't a voice I expected to come from a scary looking guy.

I cleared my throat before I spoke. Such a simple question, but his aura made me feel like he was interrogating me. "Next to Aaron, actually." Weird.. Didn't I usually say 'next to jason'?

He nodded. "That must me handy, Aaron." he smirked a little and Aaron glared at him. Tyler looked taken aback. Probably because he thought that was a general comment if we were together as such, but we weren't.. I don't think. Aaron didn't think we were anyway, I'm sure of he did he would have retorted something sarcastic about being next door to me useful. "What did I say?"

Aaron didn't answer him and I could feel the awkwardness rise in the air so I quickly thought of a question and blurted, "what about you? I mean, where do you stay?"

Tyler smiled and I immediately regretted asking because I knew what Aaron's answer would be and tylers was probably much the same. "Why, do you plan on coming to see me sometime?" He raised his eyebrows playfully at me. Yep, that would have been Aaron's answer too.

Before I could say anything, the boy in question spoke up. His voice was flat when he answered for me. "Stop flirting - she's not interested."

"How do you know?"

"Because I do."

Tyler sighed, more to himself than anyone else. "If you're not with her why can't I have her?" Jerk, I'm not a bar of chocolate! But good question.

"Seriously, give up Ty."

"You're so confusing, you know that? One minute you're all 'oh Eboni, I declare my love for you' and the next you're like 'damn," he punched the head of the chair lightly and cocked his head slightly. He continued to speak with a girly tone. "if I can't have her she must be forever alone! Make up your mind or she'll suffer."

Aaron's jaw clamped together which told me that speech was like a punch to the face. He didn't speak, he just turned his head away and stared out the window.

"Tyler, drop it before there's an argument!" Corry said to him but Tyler just rolled his eyes at him and continued to look at me.

"You know I'm just kidding right?" ass, that half apology looked like it was forced out.

I smiled to be polite. "Of course."

"Good. Make sure he knows that." he jerked his thumb towards Aaron and smiled to me before turned round in his seat and popping both ear buds into his ears to listen to music. He leaned his head back looking defeat. Yeah.. He is creepily beautiful.
