Why do I attempt
That which I am exempt
Exempt from on my standards
But wait, I am not the commander
I am simply just a ponderer
Who's frequently called a wanderer
Walking
Running
Skipping
Stop
Now I am a tally marker
One tally
Two tally
Three tally
Four
Five tallies now I hear knocking at my door
Knocking that won't end
And my patience is running thin
Screaming please don't let them in
PLEASE DON'T LET THEM IN
But you tell me that it's quiet
You're telling me you can't hear it?
Pounding
Bleeding
I'm not coherent
You go to check the door
Slammed it open
Scraped the floor
But no one seemed to be there
I rip apart with a slight tear
What am I even doing here
Screaming
Pleading
Threatening my aspirations
Damn that door
Who are you looking for?
Excuse me
Let me introduce me
My name's Mr. Mystery
Yours must be Mrs. Misery
No hold on, that's me again sorry
I'm not crazy
Just a bit lazy
When it comes to sanity
Which one's sane
Can you tell
Of course you can
We've probably met before in hell
That was rude
Does it look like I'm sorry
Probably not
It's a work in progress
Progressively getting better
That was a lie
Now I'm tongue tied
Sorry for wasting your time
Go ahead
Get on with life
I'll be here
Attempting
