The Listener

I'd rather listen than speak
Because when I try to speak
Nobody listens to me
So I'll listen to what you have to say
I'll take in every word
You shouldn't have to be misheard

I'll take on that role
The listener
You'll be the eyes
I'll be the ears
And when my eyes begin to water
Turn a cold shoulder
That's all I expect from you

Mine do too
But if I said anything
That would just bore you
