KWON NICOLE LIKED TO BELIEVE SHE WAS JUST AN ORDINARY STUDENT.
But there were some instances in her life where she sometimes believed she wasn't. Maybe it was because of that annoying wink boy who went by the name of 'Park Jihoon'.
In all honesty, she wondered how all the Jihoons were blessed with god-like visuals. Her ultimate bias was Lee Jihoon of SEVENTEEN, the school's it boy was named Park Jihoon, her favorite actor was Seo Jihoon.
It felt as if the world wanted her to end up with a Jihoon in her life, so she eventually did the inevitable: she started to ignore her best friend, Park Jihoon.
Nicole grew up with Jihoon, so the two naturally became friends. And when they entered high school, they became best friends. But, as time passed by, Nicole started hating herself because she realized that the feeling she had for her friend were more than 'just friends'.
She cursed herself for being that cliche lead girls in fanfictions who'd always fall in love with their best friends.
So, a week passed since she avoided him. It was unexpectedly easy since Jihoon had a bunch of friends and girls always trailing after him, while Nicole preferred to be alone. Whenever he tried to approach her, she'd run away from his sight and hide in the girl's rest room.
The fact that Jihoon was a year older than her helped a lot, they were in different year levels, hence their classrooms were quite far from each other. Nicole felt like she succeeded in avoiding him, so as days passed, she felt happier.
But it didn't help calm the growing attraction in her heart.
"Class! The bell doesn't dismiss you, I do! So sit down and finish your work!" Mr. Kim was at it again. Nicole silently groaned as she stuffed her head in the Physics worksheet her teacher gave her.
It was already four in the afternoon, she was supposed to be dismissed from classes by now - but her idiotic teacher always loved to be a sadist, so he loved to be that teacher who held back students.
Nicole was one of the girls who always left early, it was a tactic for her to avoid Jihoon. But it seemed impossible now since Mr. Kim was persistent in letting everyone stay until everybody finished their work.
"Jihoon!"
Everyone in the classroom looked up from their papers and to the door to peek at the hallway where students from the other classes were crowding in. Their chatters continued to grow, disrupting the students of Class 1-C in their torture worksheet answering.
"Eunji, finish your paper!" Mr. Kim called out to Eunji who failed to escape the classroom, since she was curious on what was happening outside. Actually, everyone was. It was a rare occasion for everyone to crowd in the tight hallway.
It seemed like something was happening.
But after five more minutes, the class was finally dismissed and the students all rushed outside to see what was happening. Nicole only sighed and kept her things slowly, noticing how empty the classroom suddenly came to be.
After she was done packing, she went out of her classroom and tried to push her way to the staircase. But it was no use. Because of her petite height, it felt like she was drowning in the crowd of people - she felt suffocated!
All of a sudden, the crowd of students started pushing her to the opposite direction of where she was supposed to go. She tried pushing back, but it all went to vain when she suddenly landed on the floor, with her butt aching like hell.
"Ah fuck." Nicole rubbed her eyes before pushing herself up from the floor. Suddenly, the crowd grew quiet and all stared at her with expectant eyes. "What in the world-"
"Nicole!" Her eyes widened, her heels turning around to face the owner of the voice she desperately missed.
"Jihoon?" Nicole's eyes widened even more as she saw the flower in his hand, as if it was waiting for her to receive it.
The whole thing was cheesy and cringe-worthy, Nicole wanted to vomit so bad - but Jihoon only smiled shyly and gave her the flower, making the crowd shout in excitement.
"What's this?"
"I know how much you hate cringey things, so I decided to confess you like this - to make it memorable."
