(Italics will mean they are speaking in either Japanese or French. French is usually spoken between Avan and Esther and Japanese is usually spoken to almost everyone else unless stated otherwise.)
Esther's POV
"...I can't believe we leave in 3 days.." I sighed. " it's so beautiful here. I never want to leave..."
Avan looked over at me. "Then let's stay." He said.
"Really?! Until when?!" I said surprised yet excited.
"Until we decide to leave I guess. 2 weeks 2 months whatever you want. I'm down." He says completely serious with a sincere smile.
✨1 week ✨
Third Person POV
"Babe, so far all the apartments we've looked at aren't what we're looking for. They are way too small to be that expensive. If we are gonna spend over $200,000 for an apartment it needs to be perfect." Esther complained.
"We have one more to look at this afternoon. If it's still not what you are looking for then we will call our parents and tell them to postpone our furniture shipment and stuff and we will continue looking. It's not the end of the world." Avan tries to reassure her.
"You're right," Ester sighs. "It's just that I'm honestly scared. We are moving to somewhere where we don't know anybody, our jobs aren't guaranteed! I don't want your parents paying for everything all the time. And the biggest thing is we look way different than almost every single person in this country."
"I understand your concern," Avan grabs Esther's hand to comfort her. "I truly do honey, but this is what you've always wanted to do, remember? Don't over think things. We will be okay. Can you trust me?." Avan gives Esther a kind smile.
"I love you.." Esther caresses Avans face.
"I love you too.." Avan kisses the hand on his face.
"Ah so cute," The cab driver, who seemed to be almost in her late 30's, spoke quietly. "How long have the two of you been together?"
"Um, 2 years and 4 months... you speak french?" Esther says surprised.
"Ah young love, so beautiful, and yes I studied in Canada. where I learned to speak English and french." The cab driver replied.
"Oh I studied in Canada too. That's where me and my boyfriend met. He's from Canada. He can speak French way better than he can understand it though." Esther and the cab driver shared a laugh. Avan pouted.
"If you don't mind me asking, what's your name?" Esther asks.
"Soo Jin." The cab driver answers.
"Soo Jin...are you Korean?"
"Half. Japanese mother Korean father. How'd you know?"
"Your name. I studied in Korea when I was 17 until I was 20."
"Oh so do you speak Korean?"
"Yes. I studied Korean since I was 14."
"I'm impressed. English, Japanese, French and Korean."
"Thank you. I worked very hard."
"And I assure you your hard work will pay off."
"Thank you Soo Jin.."
"Oh. We are here."
"Thank you so much Soo Jin" Esther says getting out of the cab, along with Avan who was ignored the whole time.
"Oh I'm sorry. I forgot to ask your name."
"I'm Esther and that's my boyfriend Avan."
"It was nice to meet you both. Hope to see you around. And trust Avan. Everything will be okay. I promise."
