"Our modern society is engaged in polishing and decorating the cage in which man is kept imprisoned."

Swami Nirmalananda

Unfortunately, my pessimistic 15 year old self was right.

They're moving all the factories towards the outer city and using that space for new gyms and malls and new, bigger houses. They're building small houses and apartments out by where the factories are moving. I have this feeling that everyone in the lower classes are going to be ‘relocated’ out there or something. Is that even legal?

On another note, I've noticed new discriminatory conversations around school. Words like 'rags' and 'filth' and 'cheap' are being applied to anyone whose parents aren't rich. I mean, some people who used to be my friends are ditching me because I’m not as rich as they are. It’s really… it hurts. I mean, I guess they weren’t worth it in the first place… but this is all so stupid. It's becoming 'us' and 'them', or 'you' and 'me'. Like we're two separate entities. We're divided, and I know – deep inside, I know – that's a bad thing. Some old president said something like united we stand and divided we fall. Well we're going to fall if we don't do something about this.
