Treat You Better

*This was once a Hiro Hamada x Reader, but I changed it when I rewrote it in my journal*

His phone rang out in the dead of night, startling him awake. He groggily picked up his phone and held it to his ear. He sat up, his blanket sliding down his bare chest and over his legs.

"Hello?"

I won't lie to you,

I know he's just not right for you,

And you can tell me if I'm off, but I see it on your face

When you say that he's the one that you want.

And you're spending all your time in this wrong situation

And any time you want it to stop.

"Hello?" her shaking voice filled his ears. He took his brown blanket off of his legs as opposed to throwing his phone across the room and into the wall. He knew exactly what her asshole of a boyfriend does to her, and hearing about it boiled his blood in his bones.

I know I can treat you better than he can,

And any girl like you deserves a gentleman.

Tell me, why are we wasting time on all your wasted crying

When you should be with me instead?

I know I can treat you better.

"I'm here," he whispered.

Better than he can!

"H-he did it again," she whispered.

He sighed in frustration. "You know I can't beat him up. I'm a police officer. It's my duty to protect people. Not hurt them."

"He did more this time."

Even though he knew he'd regret it later, he uttered, "What did he do this time?"

I'll stop time for you

The second you say you'd like me to.

I just want to give you the loving that you're missing,

Baby just to wake up with you,

Would be everything I need and this could be so different,

Tell me what you want me to do.

He was horrified. "I-I'll call you back." He hung up his phone. He slammed it down on the bed next to him. He rested his elbows on his knees, angrily knotting his hands through his messy, curly brown hair.

He knew that the man she was with wasn't anything above a man who didn't deserve to be any place except a police station behind bars, but that wouldn't happen unless he did something about it. He was a police officer for Christ's sake!

Cause I know I can treat you better than he can

And any girl like you deserves a gentleman

Tell me, why are we wasting time on all your wasted crying

When you should be with me instead?

I know I could treat you better!

"Damn!" he yelled. He stood up, his hands violently leaving his hair. He didn't give a crap that he was a police officer: that it was his duty to keep people safe. He just wanted to hit someone. Specifically, her ex. At least, he thought that she would have dumped his disgusting butt.
