chapter 18: confessions

I think this book is coming to an end

Teo's pov

12:30am 

That's what the clock said. I think Ayo and Jamie are asleep. I put on a black hoodie and sum shoes and I unlock the door really quietlyyyyy.  I start the car and drive to the park. 

I walk towards to picnic table and I see a black figure slouched over with an arm out on the table. I walk over there and I see Vanessa doing heroin. omfg. 

"Bruh you just gonna do that at the park. There's police everywhere at this time." I say and she takes her hood down. I turn and see a dirty looking child on top of the table sleeping. I stare at it, maybe for too long. 

"The child is what I wanna talk about." She says to me.

"OK? What about your child."

"You gotta take Jahmiah." 

"Yo tf that ain't my kid." I give her a 'really nigga' face. 

"Take him or I'm stealing all your shoes. I know where you live. I don't know if Ayo talked to you about the card I gave him earlier today but that was from me. I followed you guys home. Bye!" She takes her needles and runs away. 

Wtf. I just sat there, in shock. What am I suppose to do with a child? I don't wanna just leave him here cuz he's Ayo's son.

Damn. 

I pick him off the table. He really needs a bath. This man got no shoes and ripped shirt and some raggedy jeans. His curly hair is everywhere and he's got marks all over his legs and arms. Like bruises and cuts. 

I lay him down in the back seat of my car and drive home. 

I open the door, carrying the child. Where do I put him? I don't really want him in my bed or on my new couch....

So he just gonna sleep on the floor. 

I grabbed some extra blankets and a pillow and put them on the floor. I set him down and go to my own room, falling asleep.

Ayo's pov 

I woke up and went into the kitchen to get something to eat. I put some bread in the toaster and go on my phone until I wait for it to be ready. 

"Can I have some bread?" I hear a small voice say next to the couch. I look over the kitchen island and there's a small child on the floor. Damn that little kid is dirty. 

"Uhhhhhh." I don't know what to say so I go into Teo's room.

"Aye dude, who's that lil nigga on the floor." I say to him. 

"Uhhhhh, let me change and I'll go talk to you in the kitchen." He says and I walk out and wait for him.

"I guess you can have some bread." I say to the kid. 

Jamie walks in the kitchen with nothing but a shirt on. She kisses me good morning and grabs some water. She turn around to sit on the island but she gasps when she sees the kid. 

"Omg Ayo who is that?" She says. 

"That's Ayo's child." Teo says coming outta his room. 

"What?" Both me and Jamie say at the same time.

"Yea nigga." Teo says. 

"That can't be my fucking child bruh. I would never let him look like this." I say.

"That's your child. Remember you were 16 and you have sex with Vanessa and she said she got pregnant and had an abortion? Well she lied and that's your child. He's 4 years old and Vanessa told me to take him in last night or she would steal my shoes." Teo says and I open my mouth in shock. 

"YOU FUCKING KNEW THIS WHOLE TIME?" I yell. I grab my bread from the toaster and put some butter on it. I take another piece and put it in the toaster for supposedly 'my' kid.  

 "I'm sorry I thought you wouldn't care." Teo says. 

"Breh that's a child, you think I wouldn't care for it. That's not my fucking child, We gotta send him to an orphanage or sum." I grab the bread, put some butter on and give it to 'my' child. 

"His name is Jahmiah. And we can take a DNA test today. But we should clean him up first." Teo says. 

"Fine but that's not my fucking child."

3rd person pov 

Jamie draws Jahmiah a bath while Ayo and Teo talk more about this child situation. She cleans him up and the water was fucking brown after they finished. 

"Are you my new mommy?" Jahmiah asked Jamie. 

"Oh no." She answers back. She dresses him in some clothes takes him outside and sits him on the couch. 

Everyone gets ready and they leave to the local clinic. The doctor takes a swab of Ayo's and Jah jah's cheek. 

They all wait nervously for the results. 

"Ayleo Bowles?" The doctor says. 

"Yes." he stands up quickly. 

"You are the father of the child. If you need financial help, please fill out a form at the front office." The doctos leaves and Ayo shakes his head. 

"This ain't right. She told me she got an abortion." Ayo says to himself. 

They leave and go to the mall. Ayo steps up and takes responsibility. He still thinks this situation isn't possible but he's a father now.  

"You know, I'll be here with the child. Raising a kid isn't easy on your own." Jamie says and Teo agrees. 

" Thanks babygirl." Ayo says. 

They went to the mall and everyone bought clothes for him.

Time skips by and they all go back to the crib. Jahmiah is taking a nap and so is Jamie. 

"Ayleo, I gotta tell you something else." Teo says to his brother. 

"Oh my god don't tell me I have another child." 

"No it's...."
