4:45 amI got up and yawned hearing music bump downstairs making the windows rattle. I rolled my eyes and looked outside at the gloomy sky. The music suddenly stopped and I heard stomping up the stairs and my mom burst into my room.
"Get up. Clean the house, it's the New Years party tonight."
"Where's Maria?" I looked up at her and rubbed my eyes.
"I fired that bitch, I think she was sleeping with Greg." I scoffed and rolled my eyes standing up. "Why you rolling your eyes bitch?" She said stepping up in my face I backed away and looked at her.
"I didn't roll them." I said quietly avoiding her eye contact, the hate in my mother's eyes always made me feel like I did something wrong to her.
I sat on the bottom of the large spiral staircase as the movers moved our things into the house and my mother directed them where to set things. My mom looked at me and sat by me on the stairs.
"Hey Bambina." She smiled wrapping her arm around me, I looked up at her and smiled.
"Hi mommy."
"You'll love it here baby, I promise, wanna see your room? We can paint it pink and put teddy bears and allat fun shit." We smiled and laughed as she rubbed my hair. A throat behind us cleared and I looked back seeing 6'5 figure of Big G as he towered over us like a shadow of a demon.
"Come upstairs Vivyana." She quickly got up and walked past him hurrying up the stairs leaving me and him.
"What are you looking at?" He spat at me and I quickly looked down as he begin walking back up the stairs.
"Dammned kids." He mumbled under his breath and shortly after I heard a door slam in the distance. I sat there on those stairs till my legs went numb, the house was dark and big, I felt trapped in a dark room with no exits. That's when I realized my life would always feel like this on that big hill in that big dark home with the Shadow Demon.
