Chapter 16: Aftermath

Boruto and Sarada walk around the Hidden Leaf after running away from Sarada's home.

Sarada: Boruto...I'm sorry, I didn't know my mom saw us kiss...

Boruto: It's alright, Sarada...it isn't your fault. We just so happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Sarada: Yeah...so what do we do now? Our parents know we kissed and I'm pretty sure they expect us to be dating...when we aren't. Do you think we'll be in trouble...

Boruto: I don't think we will be. After what just happened, it's their fault for putting us on the spot like that!

Sarada: You're right...so what now? Where do we go?

Boruto: I just want to go home...

Sarada: Boruto...I'll go too. Let's stick together, okay?

Boruto: Yeah, I know. Maybe some sleep will put us in a better mood.

The two start to walk to Boruto's house.

Boruto: Hey, I have a question. Why aren't we dating after we kissed? A lot of people kiss while they're in a relationship...or friends kiss which then makes them significant others.

Sarada: *blushes* Um...that's a good question...well I'm just not able to date yet.

Boruto: What really? Why?

Sarada: I don't know...besides, I'm pretty sure if we did date, my dad would be very nosey with us...who knows, maybe if we dated, he would separate us!

Boruto: Well he did find out that we kissed just earlier...

Sarada: Yeah he did...man, I wonder what's going on back home.

The two continue walking to Boruto's house. Back at Sarada's, everyone is still trying process what exactly just happened.

Sasuke: So you're telling me they kissed...look, I have no problem with that. I just wish I was told, Sakura.

Sakura: I'm sorry...I just thought you'd get mad because you're so protective...

Sasuke: And Naruto...did you really have to say good job? You do know that's my daughter he kissed...

Sasuke death stares Naruto.

Naruto: Haha, yeah, I'm sorry Sasuke...

Hinata: Look, we're talking about something that already happened. Where could they be now? Where could they have run off to?

Sakura: Hey you're right.

Naruto: Maybe they went to our place, or Ichiraku Ramen.

Sasuke: Then let's go.

Sakura: Wait hold on...why do we need to go get Sarada? Just let her be with Boruto for now...I bet she must be very embarrassed with what just happened, and it's all our fault!

Sasuke: First off, it's more like yours. Second, do you really think I'm going to let some brat handle my daughter without knowing her worth?

The room becomes dead silent.

Naruto looks down and clenches his fists. Hinata notices and looks at him.

Hinata: Honey don't...

Naruto: That brat you're talking about is my son, Sasuke, remember that...watch yourself.

As Sasuke was about to speak, Sakura feels the tension between Sasuke and Naruto, so she interrupts him before he could even say a word.
