Chapter eight: Detention (part one)

Cole

It was only the fourth day of school, and I already got detention. Well, I got it yesterday, but that's not the point.

There was quiet a few of us in the detention room. Me, Blondie (who's name is apparently Jason), Spiderman, Annabeth, Jay, a boy named Leo, and Lloyd (don't know why he was in here).

And then there was the detention teacher. Mr. D. I swear he tried to get our name wrong. Like when he did role call.

"Lucy George?"

"Lloyd Garmadon sir, and I'm not a girl, I'm a boy."

"Don't care. Percy Peterson?"

"Uh....it's Peter Parker sir."

"Whatever Percy. John Green?"

"It's Jason sir."

"Whatever. Anniebelle Carson?"

"Annabeth sir."

"Leonardo Vexter?"

"Leo Valdez."

"That's sir to you Leonardo Vexter."

"Sir."

"Josh?"

"It's Jay sir."

"Whatever you say Josh. Nicole?" I glared at him.

"It's Cole, and I'm not a girl." Jay snickered.

"You sure?" I punched him.

"Nicole, Josh, no physical contact. Sit still and be quiet."

Now, your probably wondering what an awesome guy like me is doing in detention. Well, I'll tell you.

It all started yesterday morning at breakfast......

"Hey Cole? You okay?" Jay asked. I poked my pancakes a little bit more and I nodded.

"Yea why?"

"Because you've been blanking all of our conversation and poking your pancakes." Kai said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Well, I'm fine alright?" They nodded, but I could tell they weren't convinced.

"Uh....excuse me? Cole? Can I talk to you?" I looked up from poking my pancakes to see Piper.

"Yea, sure." I followed her out into the hall. Behind me, I could hear Jay, Kai and Lloyd being obnoxious. But then again, when are they not?

Piper cleared her throat.

"Look, I'm sorry about Jason yesterday....." I waved it aside.

"It's fine, it wasn't your fault."

"Yes it was!"

"No it wasn't!!"

"Yes it was!!"

"How could it be your fault that your boyfriend went all crazy jealous and attacked me!?" Piper sighed.

"Look, Cole, as the daughter of Aphrodite I'm naturally pretty to anyone who looks at me. And I feel that I sort of lead you on." I raised an eyebrow.

"Look, Piper, you didn't lead me on, I just became over confident. I should have known that a pretty girl like you would have a boyfriend. So, let's just leave it be okay?" She nodded.
