I am smiling.
But is it real?
What do I keep concealed
Behind the silhouette of my grinning mask?
Do I hide aching sadness?
I open my eyes
But my vision is blurred
By a rush of tears
And all I see are shades of blue
My tears turn to waterfalls
Then become a raging ocean
And I am drowning in the beautiful colors
Of bittersweet depression
The silky water wraps me in a gentle hug
The sorrows are heavy like rocks tied to my feet
As I am being pulled down into the blue abyss
And I forget to breathe
