I lie awake in bed
Unable to sleep
I turn to him
And watch as he resists
The drowsy temptation
Of the night
His arm, strong yet gentle
Wrapped around my waist
And I know I am safe
His skin is soft like velvet
Against mine
Bright blue eyes
Like the most beautiful zircon
Watching me
Then his soft lips part
And reveal a smile as white
As the creamiest pearls of the ocean
And I am lost in a trance
How I deserved someone so wonderful?
Only the heavens may know
