"He remembers." Crowley tells Dean.

Dean's eyes widen, being honest he didn't know if Crowley would be able to do it. Dean violently flicks his wrist at the floor causing the devil's trap to split.
Crowley's eyes widen at the action and he takes three quick steps back before holding his hands up to stop Dean from leaving the room.

"Wait," He tries but Dean doesn't listen to him. "I said wait! You can't just waltz in there, I need to tell you a few things about his well being first you moron."

Dean stops and turns toward Crowley with a glare. "Watch yourself Crowley. I am a Knight of Hell."

Crowley rolls his eyes and nods his head in an annoyed manner. "Castiel needs some time. For this to work I had to bind his grace, he's healing."

"But he does remember me?"

"Yes, but not how you think. He remembers but he doesn't feel. He's an angel, they aren't programmed to feel."

"I'm a demon and I feel." Dean remarks.

"Demons have always felt, we just felt things such as hate and anger. It's not so hard to imagine that can change into love. Angels however, they feel nothing. He remembers but it's like he was watching someone else's life. Don't go in there expecting him to confess his undying love for you."

Dean groans and rubs his eyes. "Can't you make him feel, hell make him human again!"

"Sorry, even I can't do that."

Dean crosses his arms in an upset pout as he stares at the floor. He just wants his Cas back, that's all he ever wanted.

"I'm going to go talk to him." Dean finally mutters.

"Did you hear anything I just said you ignorant squirrel?!"

"I'm just going to check on him, see how he's doing." Dean snaps before pushing past Crowley and toward the room Castiel is in.

It doesn't take Dean long to get there, his long strides come to a complete stop as the door is in front of him. Just as Dean is reaching for the handle his hands start to shake. He can't help but feel terrified, this is Cas, the love of his life. The thought of him not caring about Dean carves a new kind of pain into Dean's heart with no mercy.

He opens the door slowly, just in time to see a wound on Castiel's head heal. Their eyes meet and the silence stretches as neither of them know what to say.

"Dean." Castiel finally says, his voice horse from screaming.

"H- hey Cas." Dean says in a small voice.

"I remember you," Castiel says slowly, his eyes drifting away for only a moment before coming back to Dean. "I remember everything."

For a second Dean feels relief, like a weight is being lifted off of his shoulders. He reaches his hand toward Cas, but Castiel moves away in an awkward shuffle.

Dean's face falls.

"So it's true, you really don't love me anymore?" Dean's voice cracks with the pain he's feeling.

"I-" Castiel sighs. "I remember loving you, I remember my heart didn't feel like it belonged to me. Dean I was truly in love with you."

"But?" The way Dean says it, the way his shoulders shake with emotion, it hurts Castiel.

"But I don't feel. I am unable to express emotions like a human would because I am not human anymore."

Dean nods his head, Caatiel didn't know how sad someone could look doing the simplest of things. Castiel realizes Dean just wants him back, the human him. There is nothing he can do though, he is an angel now.
