"May we see Jerry Foster?" Abby asked a woman at the reception desk.
"You may. What are your names?"
"This is Aaron Delta, and I am Abby Scott."
"Alright, I have you written down here. He's in room 127 A."
"Oh, thanks. We just want to check up on how he's doing."
"No worries. Just, go down the hall, and to the left, there are stairs going up. It's the first door to the right."
Aaron looked at the woman, and said, "Thank you." Aaron grasped Abby's hand and quickly walked down the hall. But he let go when they reached the stairs.
"Come on, Abby. We're almost there. The room is the first door to the right." They were at the top of the stairs, when they began walking at a normal speed. Abby grabbed the doorknob after knocking and hearing a reply, then opened it slowly. Aaron followed her from behind, and peeked in the room, too.
"Hello, Jerry. How are you?"
"Oh, I'm much better than you may think." He said, while he sat up in the bed. "I'm fine. I don't feel any pain. I'm still a bit tired, but, you know. I'm fine."
"That's good to here." Abby said happily. Aaron pulled a chair out from underneath a table, and let Abby sit in it. He then acknowledged the 'Get Well Soon' cards and balloons around him.
"I'll be here one more day. And we can continue working on the case."
"Great. We just came in to see how you were doing."
"Well, I can give you my phone number, and we can chat while I'm still here."
"That'll be good."
They traded phone numbers.
"Got it."
Aaron asked Jerry a quick question, "Do you, by chance, have any energy to hear about the case?"
Jerry looked at the clock, "No... I am way to tired to even sit up right now."
"Oh, okay."
He apologized.
"No, that's no problem at all. We'll get out of here, and see you tomorrow, then."
"Yes. Goodbye." Abby opened the door, and walked out. After they distanced themselves from his room, Aaron whispered to Abby,
"Well, that wasn't bad. I mean, it could've gone worse. He could've had another heart attack, right then and there."
"Maybe. And I dont mean to be mean or anything, but he should've been focusing more on his health."
"Ouch!" Aaron said.
"Too far?"
"Nah, I'm just messing with you. I'm surprised that actually happened still. We postponed our conversation with Alaina Hall until next week."
"Are you sure that's enough time to regroup?"
"No. Of course not." Aaron said sarcastically. He continued, "Yes, yes. I think a week is more than enough time." They walked down the motionless hallway, and turned right at the stairs.
"Oh my.." Abby sighed disappointedly, "Oh my God... I completely forgot."
"What?"
"I forgot to give him this card."
"Well, let's go back, then. I'm sure he won't mind."
"Okay.."
