Chapter seventeen

"Stay close" stardust told Christina as they arrived with SwiftFire to a beautiful kingdom.

"It's beautiful" she replied before ducking down close to his wing as they landed. Stardust shifted his wings to hide his human rider, as did the other five dragons.

"You know stardust, you look a lot like a Cosmos dragon" SwiftFire stated and stardust hummed, striding up beside the smaller dragon.

"And what is a cosmos dragon?" He asked.

"A cosmos dragon is royalty, their the rulers of Draconus. You look like one, rumours said that the queen's second egg had been stolen years ago" SwiftFire replied and Christina blinked.

"Nana and papa told me a story when I was little. A man spoke to by a dragon stole a queen dragons egg and hid it away so the egg may hatch and with a powerful companion save everything" Christina told her bonded, earning a small smile from him

"We're being stared at" spitfire said in annoyance as the seven dragons walked down a street, many dragons stopping to stare.

"Just ignore them" whirlpool sighed.

"Halt!" A voice ordered and the seven did, two large dragons with silver armour stalking over. Stardust shifted his wings closer to Christina. "SwiftFire, might I ask who these strangers are?"

"Their from along ways away, they were just lookin' for some place to stay" SwiftFire stated cheerfully.

"This one looks almost like a cosmos dragon" one of the two stated, pointing his tail towards stardust.

"I'm not" stardust stated.

"Whatever" the other dragon said and the two stalked away, making SwiftFire sigh.

"That was to close" he said and smiled at stardust. "I really think you are one though"

"I doubt it, besides, I'm no royalty" stardust stated.

"We should go somewhere where we aren't being watched, Mark is getting a bit scared" Storm said quietly to SwiftFire and stardust. SwiftFire nodded and led them to a beautiful garden.

"It's clear" SwiftFire said after running around to check for other dragons. The six folded their wings and their humans slid down to the ground.

"It feels good to stretch, someone made it very uncomfortable" Jordan stated, giving spitfire a glare. Spitfire laughed and Christina giggled.

"Brownie points for spitfire" she stated, then they all laughed when SwiftFire tilted his head completely.

"Brownie points?" He questioned.

"It's a human saying, I'll explain it later" Jade giggled.

"Oh ok" SwiftFire said excitedly.

"What type of dragons were those?" Sky asked cautiously.

"Armour dragons, they protect and guard everyone, especially the king and queen. I know a lot of them, I tend to be clumsy sometimes" SwiftFire explained honestly.

"Trust me, I know the feeling" Christina said and stardust chuckled.

"Armour dragons are like knights then!" Mark stated and SwiftFire looked to Christina who chuckled.

"Knights are kinda the same as armour dragons, protectors and guardians, and they rescue or save people, but humans don't really have Knights anymore" she explained and SwiftFire nodded, still Very confused.

"So these are humans" they all spun and looked as a dragon stepped into the light. She looked like stardust, just a bit larger and feminine.

"Who're you?" Stardust growled as Christina hid behind his legs, the other five dragons also becoming protective of their humans while SwiftFire was frozen.

"Stardust, don't be rude to her, she's the princess!" SwiftFire hissed quietly as he bowed to the cosmos dragon.

"Rise, SwiftFire. You needn't bow and I mean no harm to your humans..... Though I'm very curious to these two" the Princess stated as she used her tail to gesture to stardust and Christina. "You appear to be a cosmos dragon, but you don't act like a normal dragon"

"I was raised on earth with my human rider, Christina. All six of us hatched and have lived on earth all our life's, which I'll say now that we're not even a year old yet" stardust explained and Christina climbed up onto his back.

"Amazing, this is amazing" the Princess stated as she walked around stardust, looking at him. "You are a cosmos dragon, but you were raised by a human, a human that does not hate dragons"

"If I may, Princess?" Christina asked and the princess gasped quietly before nodding excitedly. "My name is Christina landers, about half a year ago I found stardust's egg and he hatched. Not all humans hate dragons, I've grown up learning of dragons are noble powerful guardians, not monsters. And if stardust is a cosmos dragon, that means he's the prince, correct?"

"Correct Christina. That means, you stardust, are my younger brother...... Your egg was stolen long ago, mother and father thought you lost forever...... Oh how rude of me, I never introduced myself. My name is shimmer, and you seven may call me Shim" the Princess stated sheepishly.

"I have a sister, and parents......" Stardust whispered before Christina sent him encouragement through the bond. He smiled and put a wing around shimmer, nuzzling her shoulder. She chuckled before returning the affectionate gesture. "I really have a family, besides my human one"

"Yes stardust...... Come, I must introduce you to our parents, and the rest of you may come as well! I want to know more about this mysterious bond between you all" shimmer said and SwiftFire chuckled.

"I should be going, my parents will search for me. It was a pleasure meeting you all, I hope we meet again" SwiftFire said before racing off.

"Then let's go to the castle!"
