the night had passed like it didn't matter.
the rain clouds that filled the sky reflected how the prince, soon to be king, was feeling. the pitter of the rain soothing him, comforting as if knowing he had a rough night.
i remember my first storm with josh.

-
two little boys, laughing and dancing around a field. the grass moving around their feet.
tyler was having such a good time he hadn't noticed how the sun disappeared behind dark clouds.

rain started to fall onto the boys head. josh just giggled at it while tyler was frozen in fear.
"hey what's wrong ty? it's only rain."
the prince's shaking shoulders showed that he needed to go back to the castle.
josh grabbed his friend holding him close trying to offer up his own warmth.

in no time they were at the dark building. it looked over them. tyler ran to the guard at the gate.
"are mother and father home?"
"no they left a few hours ago."
fear still clung tenaciously onto the boy's face. tyler jumping when josh had grabbed his arm.

josh had led them inside. tyler busy looking at the sky as if seeing when it was going to attack him.

a fire place cackled calling josh's attention. he pushed the other boy into the room and shut the door.
their wet clothes beginning to itch. josh sat in front of the fire and pulled tyler next to him.
lighting attacking and lighting up the sky.
a scream came from the young prince's mouth tears threatening to fall.
stop being such a baby, josh is going to hate you

"it's ok if you don't want to stay with someone who cries over storms." he tentatively tells the other boy.
confusion sets on josh's face.
"why would i leave. i used to be really afraid of rain storms so much i would hid under my bed."
josh smiled at him and again pulled him closer both of them comfortably holding the other.

tyler smiled at the memory. wishing for anything to take him back.
