he walked to the house, josh slightly lagging behind him.
the door opening before he had a chance to knock.
"tyler, i'm so glad you could make it." mrs. dun says ushering them inside. her smile bright.
tyler smiles back at her. a girl comes bouncing around the corner.
"happy birthday abigail." she smiles the same as her mother and brother.
"did you bring me anything?" she asks a playful smile dancing on her lips.
"abby!" josh nudges her. laughs erupting out of her.
"i'm just kidding older brother, at least this year." she winks.

more people come in the small house.  mostly just family. the laughs echoing down the quiet street.
tyler walks outside, slipping out the back right into the night. the stone laying under his shoe. the cold air filling up his lungs.
i wish we were still like this, my family.
creaking steps cause him to turn.
josh.
"hey, what are you doing out here?" worries scattered on his face.
"oh nothing i just needed some fresh air." tyler says looking up at the full moon, clouds safely passing under it.

"have you ever heard the story behind the sun and moon?" josh speaks moving closer to tyler. his breath coming out in soft white puffs.
josh looks up at the moon.
"no, tell it to me." tyler looks at him.
the moonlight makes him look so pretty.
"well the story goes that there once was the sun and the moon, two people who lived here on earth. when the sea was being formed and gods roamed. they were happy together, but both wanted more. both wanted a child even though they couldn't conceive one together. so they decided to ask a goddess who may take pity one them. the goddess helped them give birth to a child, but the sun and moon were faulty on their payment. so the goddess out raged puts them in the sky. being so close but so far. and even though they can only touch at twilight and dawn they dance until they are pulled apart. a single kiss a promise." josh finishes holding tyler closer to him. the moonlight casting a glow upon both boys face.

"that's horrible." tyler starts first.
"why is that?" josh looks slightly down at the smaller boy.
"being so close but so far from the one you love the most would be painful." soft doe eyes staring into soft doe eyes.  the pink haired man wrapping his arm around tyler.
tyler wishing that they could stay like this forever. so close and so far.
but nothing could break this moment right now. an invisible force pushing them closer.
lips meeting lips.
a soft gasp falls from tyler's mouth.
josh tugging closer.
heated mouths.
a cold wind that is telling them to pull apart but they won't not this time.
"wow."
"i know." josh replies, holding tyler's waist.
resting his forehead against josh's, breathing in sink. laughs and smiles dancing between them.
"think anyone is missing us?" he questions.
"probably, lets go." josh says holding tyler's waist for a little while longer.
and if when they went back inside tyler stood closer to josh no one said anything.
