Before you, my heart was
nothing but an ember.
You ignited a fire within me.
I didn't feel the burn, all I
felt was an intensity. The flames kept rising and
I saw them take a hold of me.
I let it be because for once I
didn't feel empty. When you left, the fire
withstood the storms that
came along subsequently. Some days they hit
harder than others.
But the flames never burn
out, they just burn now.The fire is still alive in
this heart of mine, yet all
I can feel is the coldness
of the night.
