A week after Myles had told his mom that he liked hot dogs instead of tacos, she thought that it was time to tell his father that he was gay. Eileen wanted it to be extravagant. So she arranged a dinner party which was really her sons "coming out" party. She invited all family and friends that could come on such short notice. She planned the entire thing within a day. Eileen was always very eccentric and over the top when it came to parties. She had spent the entire day cooking for the event. When her husband asked what the occasion was she only told him that he would soon find out everything.

That afternoon Cam and Myles spent the afternoon preparing for the evening. They both had taken the day off and went to buy new clothes. Neither of them liked to splurge on themselves so it was nice for a change to enjoy themselves with a few nice things. Myles was more nervous than he was telling his mother that he was gay, this time he'd be telling his father and whole family. Frankly Myles didn't really care what the rest of his family thought of him. None of them really liked him and he didn't like them. Since he dropped out of school everyone always spread drama and rumors about Myles. Drug dealer, criminal, failure. Myles felt as if he had done well for himself so far. He had a stable job and now a home with the love of his life. He didn't have gamblers debt like his Aunt Stacy. Or a Meth problem like his Uncle Rob. Yet no one ever says anything about them, they all aim their insults at Myles. Once the dinner was an hour away, Cam and Myles started to dress to impress. Myles' mothers parties were always professional, so a three piece suit was always ready in his closet. Cam had bought a black blazer and new tie, Myles told himself he wouldn't spend a fortune but ended up buying an entire new wardrobe, this is what happens when Myles buys for himself. He decided to wear dressy pants and a black dress shirt. Black was always slimming on Myles.

When they pulled into the parking lot of his parents house, Myles started to feel his nerves kicking in. Cam could see that he was scared. "I'm here with you, don't worry, you've got this." Cam never realized how much he truly loved Cam. He stood by him no matter what. When they walked through the door everyone' eyes were on Cam. There was no greeting from loved ones only staring and silence. finally Myles' mother spoke up, "You both made it!" Eileen pulled them both into a hug. Once everyone had said their hellos and how are yous, wine was poured and everyone went to the smoking room where they conversed until dinner was completely ready. "So what do you do now? Wash cars?" Myles' Aunt Ethel asked. "Uh, no, I work at a radio station. You should tune in sometime. Maybe then you wouldn't be so bitter." Myles had said with a smile. Cam's wine nearly went through his nose he was laughing so hard. "I cant believe you just said that! Are you crazy?" Cam asked. "They don't care, they'll just spread more rumors. The way my family works is they send you an insult you send one back." At that point dinner was ready to begin. Eileen called everyone to the dining room to start. Everyone sat down at the long oak table which was filled with an assortment of food, Turkey, Pot Roast, Casseroles, and an array of dishes that were brought from everyone else. "Before everyone starts, I think Myles has an announcement." Everyone turned to look at the end of the table where Cam and Myles were seated. Myles hands immediately started to shake underneath the table. Cam grabbed his hands and nodded his head. He didn't say it but he knew what Cam would have said, it'll be ok, I promise. Myles stood up grabbing his wine glass and clearing his throat, before he spoke he drained his glass. "Everyone I know that you all probably already know this but just haven't wanted to say it out loud, I didn't want to for awhile either but, I'm gay. And this amazing handsome guy next to me is my boyfriend. If any of you have anything to say about it, I'd say it now." No one spoke some just stared at him in awe others just looked at the floor, like his father. But not Eileen, she looked at him with wide eyes and a smile. He didn't know who it was but someone had started to clap, and soon, everyone was. They didn't care. No one looked at him differently. He was still Myles. Once he sat back down Cam pulled him in close and whispered in his ear, "Your dad started to clap." Myles turned to Cam then to his dad across the table. He had never seen his dad smile before until that night.

Hi people, idk this chapter felt short, I'm sorry. I sort of wrote what I wish could happen to me, Myles is sort of an alter ego for me in a way.
