do what you want, they say
as they decide where you will be today.
dress the way you like, they say
as they stress in not letting you wear your choice of clothing
while swiping their cards as they pay
for another one
because you'll play dress up
and there's no way for you to let them stop
so you shut your mouth
as they stitch you together-
clothed and displayed in the closet
as a trophy to remind them of a winner.
that even the way you put your hair,
they'll think they're doing you a favor, that it's just fair.
funny,
since they never really asked
what i think
about the doll they brought to life
by their own reverie.
