Imagine having an ally or an enemy, in which the momentum is already at the peak of its angst. You feel more determined than ever, for the intensity of the battle just starts to take over your soul. But then, as you start to feel the moment, you would hear this from them:
"I'm tired."
Anti-climatic, isn't it? That is exactly how Ira is, whether be an ally or an enemy. Although I do not accept such behavior in an actual battle, I let it off for now. It's just training anyway, and I don't want to be held responsible for her death if I push too much.
It was heavily proven today that the intensity of her ability depends on her thoughts and emotions. However, I wonder what about Higuchi that stimulated her powers so much; to the point that she showed me its true form and potential.
Ira laid down flat on the floor, not giving a damn that her own master was still around. Her physical wounds start to disappear like it was never there in the first place, but despite that, she looks haggard as heck.
I picked her up using my ability, since she didn't seem to look like that she'd stand up any time soon. I stopped in front of the door of the training room, remembering what Ira said before we even got in.
"At least have enough willpower to lock the door back." I told her, a low-toned laugh escaping her lips.
Her left arm stretched out to reach the door, sending out a small green wave all over the wooden surface. Once she put her arm back down, I held on the knob and turned it, making sure that it was as locked as before to when we got here.
"I'm doubting you right now," I said to her as we walk back home. "Are you sure you didn't eat those sweets -- not even one bite?"
"Master, I told you," Ira replied frailly, reverting back to her good mood. "I would never have the courage to lie to you."
I said nothing in response and continued on with walking, letting her go upon reaching near the district. Having to carry her using Rashoumon might draw in unwanted attention from the civilians, so I told her to get up and I'll help her walk the way normal people do it.
This would have been easier if I used Rashoumon all the way home, but I wouldn't want to create any more mess. I dropped her off to her dormitory, earning a perplexed look from the teachers who were outside doing some gardening.
I made her sit down to the chair next to her desk, Ira then sighing in relief. She really wasn't heavy to support, but having to adjust with her height quite made my back sore.
"Get some rest, wimp," I told her before I headed out the door. "We'll be going out again later for dinner."
"Can't we do that tomorrow?" Ira protested, whining like a child. "I'm extremely drained from using my ability to that extent."
I sighed. "Gin told me to take you, as well."
And then all of a sudden, Ira panicked and fell off the chair. All that 'I'm tired' drama dissipated in thin air as if she was just freshly rejuvenated. She knelt down, her eyes gleaming in hope and sparkles. "Gin? R-really?!"
I said nothing and gave her a glare. I'm just going to pretend that I don't know anything about her eyeing on my sister from head to toe. She stood back up and acted all shy once again.
She stuttered, "I-I mean, are you sure you're okay with it?" Her face was flushing deep red; a tomato must be ashamed if I put them side to side.
"Creep," I mumbled, not too low not to be heard but not too loud for her to comprehend. "We'll pick you up by 7."
