I sighed as I paused in front of the door to my apartment.  I heard a similar sigh to my left, and glanced over to see the girl from earlier.  She was still in the same clothes as this morning, but she looked much more emotionally drained.

She glanced over a caught my gaze.  Her big, brown, doe-like eyes gazed into my tired, aqua eyes.

I looked away and unlocked the door to my apartment, ignoring any attempts that she could have possibly made to start a conversation.

Locking the door from the inside, I set my backpack down, and took out some of my notes.  I set them on the table, and travelled to the fridge to see what my options for dinner were.

I really should set something out for tomorrow night in the morning, like how my mom used to.

I searched the fridge, and noticed that nothing looked appealing.

I switched to the freezer, and pulled out a random microwavable dinner.  It was a frozen chicken Alfredo.  Yum.

I was about to close the freezer, when I spotted a cut of pork.  After some debate, I moved it to the frodge, so it could defrost a bit for tomorrow.

I made my Alfredo, and sat back down at the table.  I sighed as I opened my Translation Note, and poured my attention over the new words that I had written in it.  It seemed that a huge vocabulary of math terms had built up in my journal.  Tomorrow, I should add what ever is left, since I only got through to the terms that started with 'm'.  Terms 'n' through 'z' should be done tomorrow...

I finished my pasta, and threw away the disposable dish it came in.

I moved my work to my room, and organized it all on my desk, before getting ready to get in the shower.

I grabbed a pair of gym shorts and boxers, and took 10 minutes to shower.

After putting on the clothes and towel drying my short, blond hair, I climbed into the bed.

I stared at the ceiling, thinking about what had happened with Nagisa and Kayano at the library before I left.

They were shocked by my answer, before becoming guarded against me.  I didn't say much to them after that, and just left the library to go home.

My eye lids grew heavy, and sleep overcame me as darkness surrounded me.

I sighed as I walked to school.  It was the day of midterms, and I was confident that I would understand most of the words on the test.

The past two weeks had been full of struggling to understand my classes.  It was the first time that I was being truly challenged, but for a different reason than I had hoped for.

My struggle rested in the fact that I could communicate easily to my teachers or peers.  By now, most of my teachers had given up on asking me questions, since I always told them that I didn't know, even though I always did.  It was truly frustrating.

After school each day, I went to the library to add subject-specific words to my vocabulary.  So I should be OK, since I'm normally fairly good at distinguishing different patterns.

I walked somewhat confidently to class 3-A, where my class and I would be testing.

I sat nervously in class the next day.  Test results were in.

The tests were much harder than I thought.  I had overestimated my ability to recognize the characters that I had worked so hard to memorize.  Once I had gotten into the test, the Kanji all blurred together in my mind, and I couldn't remember anything.  I simply guessed for most of the questions...unless it was one that I knew.
