I glanced up at the newcomers. Five people walked over to the counter, and I would have continued to mind my own business. However, a head of strawberry-blond hair caught my attention.

I wasn't certain if it was Asano or not, but he was the only guy that I knew with that hair.

One of the boys, the one with glasses and really greasy hair, spotted me, and elbowed the strawberry-blond. Glasses pointed me out, and they both looked at me.

A pair of surprised purple eyes met my own shocked, and now worried, aqua ones. There was no now that this was Asano that I was dealing with.

Asano glanced at his friends and said loudly something in Japanese, but stopped to glance at me, and switched to English.

"Oh yeah, I forgot. Stein can't speak Japanese."

The boy with flat, blackish-brown hair, and a large, kinda flat nose stepped forward and grabbed my attention. His large, lips over-exaggerated the formations of the words as he spoke.

"And that's why he's in the End Class now, right?"

I tried to ignore them, I really did. But Asano knew just what to say to get me riled up.

I had just about reached my tolerance limit when a pair of heads, blue and blonde, came into my view. But the boys in front of me hadn't spotted them yet. They stood there for a moment, listening to the insults piling up on me. I made eye contact with the blue eyes that were growing ever more deadly. The feminine young teen was emitting a seriously dangerous aura that caused the chilling atmosphere. My gaze switched over to the blonde, whose eyes mirrored her blue-eyed companion, but not quite as fiercely. A hint of confusion was also present in her eyes.

Finally, my gaze rested once again on the boys in front of me. A smirk tugged at my previously down-turned lips. The more observant of the boys, meaning Asano and Sasakibana, froze at the sight of the smirk.

I glanced at Nagisa and twitched my head in the ever so slightedt nod that I could manage.

He and Bitch-sensei glanced at each other before approaching.

"What's going on over here, boys?" Bitch-sensei rested her hands on her hips, and stood a little taller, seemingly to appear more...impressive, let's put it.

Asano draped an arm around my shoulder, feigning a friendly atmosphere. Any previous sign of discomfort from before was carefully hidden behind a mask, but his eyes revealed that his nerves were not totally at ease.

"Just talking to a friend, Ma'am."

Her eyes narrowed. "Is that true?"

I was about to answer, but Asano squeezed my shoulder painfully hard. I hesitated before answering.

"We were talking...sensei."

I added emphasis to the last word, slightly changing the tone of the word to one more serious than Asano's friendly faquade from earlier. Hopefully she'll get the message.

Joy filled my senses when a flash of emotion crossed through her eyes. She tilted her head down, her hair shadowing her eyes. Quietly, she crept up next to Asano and I, and leaned in close to his ear. While she did this, everyone around us seemed to be paralysed. She whispered in Japanese this time, right into his ear, which happened to be next to mine. Even if I couldn't understand the words, the message and meaning behind the words was clear. It sent shivers down my spine, and it must have done the same to Asano, since he rapidly jerked away from me.

Asano looked between Bitch-sensei and I before signaling the other lackies to follow him as he practically scampered out. I could almost imagine him with his tail between his legs, and I chuckled. I filed that image for later, so that maybe I could draw it.

A hand rested gently on my shoulder.

"You okay, Danny?"

I nodded. "I am now. Thanks, Nagisa, sensei."

We sat down at the table, and Bitch-sensei looked at me inquisitively, before commanding me with one words.

"Explain."

I took a deep breath before speaking.

"I'm just going to say it bluntly. I am only fluent in one language, that being, obviously, English. And, seeing as we are in Japan, that poses a problem. I've been trying to learn Japanese, but I am failing miserably. So, can you please help me learn Japanese?" I said it all in one breath, and I waited for her response.

The blonde assassin examined my features carefully.

"Why would you ask me, instead of that damn octopus?"

I hesitated. "I thought about it, but I don't think that it would be wise to let my target in on a weakness like this so soon. And also, I've heard that you are really good with languages."

Bitch-sensei nodded carefully.

"I see your reasoning. Sure. I'll help you learn Japanese. After all, I am a teacher in this class, as well as an assassin."

I turned to Nagisa, and we give each other a fist bump.  I turned back to my new Japanese tutor.

We discussed the current circumstance, and decided that, for the remainder of the trip, I should just use my hearing aids, and we would start the lessons when we got back from this trip.  Until then, I would just have to use Nagisa and Karma to help me communicate with others.

Ok guys, it's really repetitive to continue to put the disclaimer here, and I have it in the summary, so that should be good enough.

Anyways, I am really sorry for not updating this sooner.  It was simply a matter of typing up what I had already written down.  I am not going to make any garuantees of when updates will come out.  Just rest assured that I'm not abandoning this book.

Now, a note for the next chapter.  It does not follow the canon series, but it is informational and has a bit of character development.

I hope that you have been enjoying this book so far.  And please, leave a comment if you have any criticism or advice to give.  Any and all are welcome.
