It was a cold Winter night. I sat at the front porch of our house. I just wanted to let off some steam in my head. We live in the woods, no one cares if you die here outside and turn into an ice sculpture. Not even my Mom nor my brothers and sisters could care so much.
Only Dad knows how I feel, but he can't be here to comfort me. He is working in a faraway land and hasn't came back for months now. I am always worried for him. Suddenly, I felt small pieces of ice forming on my cheeks. Then I realized I have been crying the whole time. I picked up that small piece of ice near my nose. I stared at it, wondering, one day, a miracle will happen, a miracle that will change mine and my family's life. And then it melted between my thumb and index finger. But I hope unlike that piece of ice, hope and love in our family will not just melt away.
I stood up and went to the door. I can't help not noticing those loud screeches from our wooden floor. This house is made 10 years ago and until now Dad cannot afford to fix it. As I was to open the door I heard a kid laughing really hard.
"Mom, look it's snowing!" A brunette little girl shouted and literally pointed at the pieces of snow that were falling.
"Haha, you ought to notice that right after we left home," her Mom said. Her Dad just smiled and continued to walk.
I was jealous of them. They were such a happy family. I can see in their faces that they never had an argument before. And that they always love each other and then I started to wonder. Why is there a family roaming near our house which is located in the forest in the middle of a cold winter night? I giggled and when I looked again they were gone.
I wiped my eyes and looked again. I looked left and right. But not a single human can be seen. I laughed at myself. Maybe I was just haluccinating because I stayed too long outside. I patted my head and opened the door. My Mom was sleeping in the dining table. There was a lighted candle beside her and some bottle of beers. I took a piece of blanket from the cabinet and covered my Mom with it. I sat beside her and started stroking her dark brown hair and then she started snoring. I backed off and turned the lights off (the candle I mean).
I took a final glance at her and opened to door to our room. Our : as in all of us 10 children. There were two double-decks. The younger 8 slept on those beds while me and my eldest sister Susan slept on the floor. I looked at them, they slept so peacefully like angels. The Moonlight entered the plastic window of our house shining on the place where I sleep. I looked at the double-deck in the right. On the top were the twins , Sally and Sunny. Down is our two youngest brothers Adrian and Louis. At the left corner, Cathy and Ana were on the top while Julius and Nathan were at the bottom. I smiled and slowly went to my place I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

"Get your foot off me Sunny !"
"Get up, Susan, I'm hungry !"
"Ouch, my back hurts !"
Those words woke my peaceful sleep. I sat up and saw a quite awful scene. Sally was pulling Sunny's hair. Ana was on the floor crying. Julius was having a nightmare. Cathy was singing an awful song. Darn it. I want to plaster tapes in each and everyone's mouth. I took a deep breathe and .....
"Shut Up !!!!!!!!" Susan shouted.
That was supposed to be my line. But it seems that her attack was very effective. Everyone stopped and stared at her.
