Sitting in front of the big black square t.v. watching the news come on "Reports are coming in an entire town was flattened over night. no one can explain what mysterious force has caused it to be destroyed. we're still finding more and more corpses, for those at home if you don't want to see the corpses please look away. as you can see these people have been literally flattened as if gravity it self came on them. now back to you Jim." a female news reporter said standing where a town had once been. i looked to see the old granny looking woman with a worried look as if she'd seen this happen before. "you know who or what did it don't you?" i asked. she turned to me regaining her composure. "why, yes, you know about Lucifer don't you?" the granny asked. "yeah, a little?" i said. Wix got up from her dizziness and flew over to my pocket and tucked herself right in it keeping her head poking out. "miss, i'm sorry to bother you. i know you wanted to get away from this life, but we have to have your help." Wix said pleading to the old woman. "well, i suppose one more time couldn't hurt. Lucifer is probably the one who caused that town to be flattened. if it is then my best guess is a city will be next, then a country, then a continent, and the chain rises further and further. you better hope you can get your powers back quickly or you're not going to stand a chance at killing the darn demon!" the old woman said. "before i ask you anymore questions, what's your name?" i asked. "my name? well, it's Beth." Beth said "okay thanks, now how do i get these powers back?" i asked. i still had no idea what they were though. Beth smiled and said "do you know how to survive in the woods?" "what? no of course not! i stay inside all day." i said confused. i suddenly realized what she was implying. "no, no, no way you're gonna make me live in the wilderness?" i said not truly worried what she was going to do. Beth started laughing "no, of course i'm not going to do that! but the look on your face is priceless!" i calmed down and said "so then what..." suddenly before i finished i started to get an image in my head again. the image was starting to turn into more of an old black and white movie that used film wheels, but in color. the movie started showing Jessica tied up to a chair and gagged with tears down her face a man was walking up to her and started pulling out a knife. "now, TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW!" the man shouted pulling the knife up to her chin. i wanted to run up to him and scream at him, but couldn't force myself to. "tell us where the book is! and where your boyfriend is hiding!" the man said drawing the knife closer to Jessica. Jessica started muffling something and a man took off what looked like some sort of wash cloth used for this kinda stuff. "okay, okay, i'll tell where the book is, and where Jake, who is not my boyfriend is." Jessica said. "okay where? humor me." the man in a black suit with the knife said, these guys looked like secret service agents. i recognized the one in the back of the dank and damp room as the one at my door. Jessica calmed down as her face began to look like she was some sort of trained professional in the movies and said "In hell." the man with the knife took it and stabbed Jessica in the leg. i had to watch as she screamed out in pain and anger. i saw Jessica's eyes a bloodshot red. the movie vision thing ended and i was on my knees on the floor holding my head. "we need to hurry now! Jessica is being interrogated and tortured as we speak. Beth, please i need to know how to get my powers back." i said begging her to help me. "well, i suppose i could do that, it's very risky though." Beth said. "i'll try anything." i said now in a rush to help Jessica and return her safely. "okay then. follow me." we left the small cabin and made our way to a higher point up the mountain. Beth had given me an oxygen mask, but Wix couldn't come since Beth didn't have any masks for faeries. once we hit the summit of Mt. Everest, which took a really long time. Beth set a camp down and began summoning something with some weird language i couldn't get a read on. "now! come forth!" Beth said as her connected fists began going in opposite directions with a yellow light forming from nowhere and turning into a sword. "you'll have to train with your weapons first. the first weapon is the one you use the most your sword." Beth said. "i can't hurt an old lady. not that i'm being gentlemen like, but if i kill you i don't want someone thinking i did it." i said. Beth smiled as her form began to glow yellow again and grow as she said "don't worry about me, i may be old but i still got a lot of fight and spirit left in me." her form was that of a healthy 20 year old woman and now holding a sword she was ready for a fight. Beth took off her oxygen mask and threw to the ground. "let's go!" she said. "we can't fight on such a small area? and shouldn't you need your oxygen mask to breathe?" i asked. "no. now let's go!" she said raring to get this fight started. i drew my sword which now made itself known and began my fight with the person standing before me on the summit of Mt Everest.
