The Story of Yang

Chapter 7: Z-1

Yang was training on the island with the Hero Blade. It was a powerful aura weapon. It could even cut through solid stone easily. He looked over at Feleen, Berdres, and Cro who were training him to use the Hero Blade and to better his aura.

Yang looked over at the trio he was training under with an annoyed expression. "Can I fight Wrath now?" He asked, "I have to be strong enough to win, with your training and the Hero Blade." Berdres just smiled and said, "Strength is something that you can only learn with your own heart." Yang rolled his eyes because he did not even understand what that meant and because he was growing impatient. Every minute was another closer to Wrath taking over his body.

Mirgrim walked over to Yang and yawned then lied down. Yang put the Hero Blade in its newly made, leather scabbard that he sewn together using old pieces of leather that were laying around on his boat. The red blade of the sword glistened whenever it was in the sun light.

Feleen hopped off the rock she was sitting on and walked over to Yang and asked "Did you ever master the blade technique I taught you?" Yang shook his head and replied, "Sorry, I'm not even close." She smiled and said, "Don't worry, most amateurs can't learn how to use it anyways." Yang frowned and said, "I'm sure I can get it if you show it to me one more time."

Feleen sighed and went over to pick up a wooden training sword. Her yellow aura flowed around her body and the sword then just the around the sword. "Surasshu!" She shouted as she swung the sword down vertically. As she a did a yellow, crescent shaped blast of pure aura flew out of the sword and cut through a tree.

"Most people can only channel their aura through elements but if you're skilled enough then you can shoot out just the aura by itself," she explained. Cro stood up to further explain, "Surasshu was originally invented by our master, the Dragon Sage. Aura blasts aren't as simple as they sound so don't get down if you can't use Surasshu."

Yang's hand tightened into a fist and he looked at it then at the trio. "I want to spar with you three one more time before I fight Wrath." Feleen looked at the two other guardians then at Yang and nodded. "Alright, the three of us against you," she stated.

Yang grabbed one of the wooden swords and got into a fighting-ready stance. Yang ran at Berdres who flew up to dodge. Yang jumped up to try and catch the guardian but then Feleen used her speed to grab Yang by the leg before he could get very high. She quickly turned Yang around and full nelsoned him, using her yellow aura to strengthen her grip so he could not escape. Green aura flowed around Cro's hand and he threw a punch into Yang's stomach.

"I can't believe you fell for a simple trick like that," Feleen said in a mocking tone, "if you can't even think three steps ahead then you'll never win against Wrath." Yang decided to use the new move he came up with. His purple aura flowed around his body and he turned into a shadow. He was able to fade out of Feleen's grip then his body quickly turned back to its original state after he got out of her hold.

"You can turn into your element?" Asked Feleen who was in awe. "Yeah," answered Yang, "I did that since I couldn't master Surasshu." She smiled then said, "Master? You couldn't even use it." She then ran at him and he sidestepped out of the way then Berdres flew from the sky and Yang did a barrel roll to dodge and rolled directly into Cro who then kicked him off the ground.

Yang began to realize their form of attack. What he realized was that Feleen and Berdres would set him up so Cro could use his massive strength to get in a strike. Yang and Feleen then ran at each other but then Yang jumped over her and that was when Berdres flew in to hit Yang while he was still in the air. Yang grabbed onto Berdres and then threw him at Cro. He caught Berdres and Yang appeared behind him to strike as he caught the other guardian. Yang strengthened his practice sword with aura as he striked Cro on the head to knock the larger man down.
