It had been five years since Mirgrimn had hatched. Yang, Wind, Rokuro, and Yui were all now fifteen years old. Yang was now 5'3" and his hair was neck-length, but the messy spikes remained the same as always. All his peers were taller than him, especially Rokuro who was 6'4" and became very muscular over the years. Yang, Wind, and Yui had nearly mastered their aura. Rokuro was never able to use his aura but had more physical strength than the other three.
Yang was trying to feed Mirgrim but the small dragon would not take the food. Yang shouted, "Eat your food you dang brat!" Yang shoved the spoon of mashed up foods into Mirigrim's mouth and he started crying, that was when Wind walked by. She picked up the dragon and it stopped crying at her touch.
Wind noticed the gloomy look on Yang's face as she was comforting the dragon. She grew worried asked if he was okay. Yang just glanced up at her for a moment and nodded. That was a lie though. Wrath's seal on Yang's body had been getting weaker over the years. He could hear Wrath's voice again. The evil demon had been haunting his dreams once again. He did not want to be the cause of pain or death of his friends. He did not want to hurt Wind. If only there were a way for Yang to kill Wrath. That was when he had, what he considered, a brilliant idea.
There was a full moon that night. Yang walked over to the apple tree where he normally did his meditation practices instead of sleeping. He believed if he combined the art of meditation with his aura abilities that he would be able to defeat Wrath. He sat cross-legged under the tree. His purple aura turned yellow. He opened his eyes and stood up.
He realized that he was no longer on the Dragon Sage's island when he observed his surroundings. He was on a different island. Half the island was filled with various plant life and was glowing purple. The other half was pitch black, all the plant life on it was dead and it had a thunderstorm where the lightning was red.
He saw Wrath. The demon looked exactly the same as he did five years ago. "Well well well," said Wrath, "it looks like the worthless brat had finally come to bring his 'justice' against me." Yang growled and said, "I'm not here for justice, I'm here to kill you!" Wrath smirked, and his cocky smile slowly grew into a large laugh. "You think that you actually have the ability to even scratch me?" Chuckled the demon, "you must be joking, our power difference is obvious."
Yang pulled out the katana he had brought with him from the real world. Black aura and red electricity surrounded Wrath. Black fire formed in his hand until it turned into his signature katana, the same one he had used to slaughter Yang's family. Just the sight of that blade brought anger to Yang but he knew that was exactly what Wrath wanted. Yang ran at Wrath then jumped, he swinged his katana downward but Wrath easily parried it away with his pinky.
Wrath then swung his katana at a speed faster than the human eye could see. Yang never even had a chance to defend against the attack. Yang fell to the ground as his blood flew in every direction. Wrath licked Yang's blood off of the sword while cutting his own tongue in the process. He slowly walked up to Yang and drove his sword through the boy's stomach. "Remember when I did this to your little brother?" Asked Wrath. He pulled the sword out then quickly stabbing Yang in various parts of his body just to listen to him scream in pain.
Yang looked up at and pleaded for help. "Shut up," demanded Wrath. Yang then looked at Wrath and begged for him to stop. "I said shut up," said Wrath. He stabbed his katana through Yang's tongue into the ground. Tears were rolling down from Yang's eyes from the sheer pain he was feeling. Wrath pulled the sword out of Yang's tongue and asked, "How close are you to that Wind girl?" Yang's eyes widened and he tried to struggle but then Wrath slid his katana through Yang's forehead to end it.
Yang woke up back at the apple tree with no wounds on his physical body, but his irises were red when he opened his eyes. He then traveled from the apple tree to where his friends normally sleep. The only one there was Wind. He walked up to her and gave her a hug. She blushed because of how suddenly Yang hugged her.
"I have something to tell you," he said. "What is it, Yang?" Asked Wind. He smiled as he unsheathed his katana, "Burn in hell." He drove his katana through her chest into her heart and she fell. Yang was able to retake his own body and catch her. He covered her stab wound with his hand to try and stop the bleeding. "No," he said, "don't die, that wasn't me! I love you too much." He began sobbing, "I love you too much for you to die."
Rokuro heard the commotion then ran to see what it was about. He saw Yang holding her body and a bloodied katana. Rokuro yelled, "You killed her!" He ran at Yang and grabbed the smaller boy by the face and slammed him into the ground. He began throwing punches but Yang didn't even bother to guard himself. Yang believed he was getting what he deserved after killing the only woman he ever loved. He was beginning to lose consciousness and thought that it would only take one more punch for his friend to kill him, he was ready to die.
Rokuro threw one last punch but it was stopped right before making contact with Yang. The Dragon Sage was holding onto Rokuro's arm to prevent him from striking. The Dragon Sage threw Rokuro a few feet away from Yang. "This jerk killed Wind," shouted Rokuro, "I was going to avenge her!" The Dragon Sage, not realizing that the seal has weakened, said, "I doubt that Yang would do anything like that." Yang looked up and said, "It's true."
Yang explained what happened with Wrath. Rokuro did not believe him at first until the Dragon Sage confirmed to him that Wrath was a real demon living inside of Yang. Yang was crying and blaming himself the whole time he was explaining what happened. He was not able to look at his friends but only at the corpse of his loved one. "I'm sorry," he said to himself, "I'll never hurt you again."
The Dragon Sage sent Rokuro and Yui on their own journeys a week later. Yang and Mirgrim were still sitting at Wind's grave. Yang was crying the whole time and refused to eat. He was hoping that Wrath would allow him to starve to death. Yang had made a promise to never smile again until the day he could see Wind's smile again.
Yang was still sitting at her grave after another week had passed. He did not know what else to do with his life. He was scared of Wrath. Even though the fear he felt was terrible, the sorrow from Wind's death was the worst thing he had ever felt in his entire life. He wanted her back, to let her know how he felt. Now she was gone and the worst part was not that he took her life but he made her feel despair as he did it.
He hated himself, Wrath, and everything else. Everything he loved was taken away by his own hands. Even his friends, Rokuro and Yui, had left him. He felt like he was finally ready. He stood up took out one of his training knives and attempted to stab himself in the throat with it. A black and red aura destroyed the knife as he tried.
"Why won't you let me die?!" Shouted Yang, "You took away everything I had, everything I loved! You made me into nothing except a heartless killer!" He fell to his knees and began crying again, "I just want her back, why did you take her?" The only thing Yang knew how to do anymore was cry.
The Dragon Sage approached him the next day. "Don't blame yourself," he said. Yang shouted at him to keep quiet but the sage interrupted him, "It's about time I finally told you how to defeat Wrath."
