After a hot shower and some scrubbing we were both clean from the blue paint. I did have a slight worry of how we were going to get it off his carpet but Aaron seemed completely relaxed about the whole thing, so I let it go as well.
I changed into one of his tops and a pair of boxers that he had placed on the bed for me. I grinned at how it fell over my thighs and almost down to my knees.
Pulling back the bedding, I hopped up onto the bed and tucked myself in waiting for Aaron to come back.
He paused as he came through the door looking at me.
"Hey." I grinned.
"Now, that is a sight." He replied looking at me.
"Come lay with me." I patted the bed.
Aaron came over and slipped into bed making me smile. "I had to jump up onto the bed. Maybe you could make me a step?" I suggested.
He chuckled "I'll consider doing that."
"Lay down.." He instructed getting down comfortable himself.
"You're gonna tell me now. Right?" I asked following his orders.
Once we were set, I laid my head on his chest to hear his heart beating softly. I threw my arm over his body and waited patiently as he played with my hair.
"It was after a lockdown, that I realised I'd brought something else home, something entirely different than a normal ghost. I know what you're gonna say, a normal ghost, but being haunted is part of this job, my lifestyle you know?"
I nodded gently.
"Things go bump in the night, electrical faults and missing items. It's just a way of life now. But this... This was different. I kept getting angry. So... so I came to stay at yours. But I had to leave there cause.." he paused making me look up slowly.
"Because I dreamt that I hurt you, that I seriously hurt you and I couldn't risk that becoming a reality. It wasn't just one dream, they kept happening and happening. The anger would surface out of nowhere. One minute I would be fine and another minute I would contemplate killing an entire diner. You know in Arizona? That's why I stayed outside until I had to come in... Theo was there too Luna. He's just a baby. A beautiful happy baby but I was mad at him too. He doesn't understand that uncle Aaron has shit going on in his head, he doesn't care, he just wants aeroplane and horsey gallops."
"Why didn't you tell anyone?" I whispered rubbing his chest as he began to get upset.
"Zak calls me a dirty sponge, I am. I like to see how far I can push my body. But this wasn't just latching onto me, you had a nightmare.. When we were laying on the couch, you began to whimper. I panicked I thought that whatever had got me, was going into you and I didn't want that. So, I left. I really fucking like you Luna. I mean?" He lifted his hands up in gesture of us.
"I like you too. No I really fucking like you too. But you can't push me out like that? I thought it was me." I replied.
"I know, but I couldn't have you being worried, I wanted you angry. Angry at me, to the point you'd walk away and leave me alone.."
"But you didn't account for my stubbornness." I added.
"Exactly. I haven't told anyone because I don't want to be weak. I can handle this, I am handling it, slowly. But I don't want anyone else getting involved in it, especially not Zak or Maria. Theo is so small, I couldn't bare it if anything were to hap-"
