Nadine left the house early this morning to meet with another lawyer, her new partner.

The two of them were specifically chosen by Luis to work on the case. And that's Michael.

When Nadine found out that's is Michael will be her partner she was actually shocked. She thought Michael was just a business man. She didn't expect that's his also a lawyer.

When they actually didn't get to know each other well, cause the last time she supposed to met him she actually didn't show up. That's the time that her and James actually back together.

The night they made love at the parking lot.

Michael McDermmot is an incredible lawyer. He is young, single and very driven. He has only been working there for a few weeks, and this is his first big case with the firm.

Nadine was assigned to work on the case with him while she was on leave so she and Michael never had the chance to sit down and discuss the case.

After that incident in the bedroom, she was not able to go back to sleep anymore.

She spent the entire night downstairs, studying her the files. She didn't bother going back to bed.

Frankly, she did not want to be anywhere near James and instead of focusing her energy on their issue, she decided to keep herself busy and got to work.

Nadine patiently waits for Michael. She is supposed to meet him at 7:30 AM at a local diner.

Her phone has been ringing for the past forty-five minutes and she is purposely ignoring the calls.

"Aren't you gonna get that?"

Nadine turns around and finds Michael standing behind her.

"You scared me," she says smiling, turning off her cellphone.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to sneak up on you like that," he explains.

"It's nice to finally meet you again, Ms. Lustre. I've heard a lot about you." He says laughing.

"Nice to meet you, too. And please, call me Nadine," she says, gesturing him to take a seat.

"So it's ok that I'll be your partner in this case, will you not be disappointed?" She jokingly asked.

"Well, even though you were on leave when I got hired at the firm, your name was constantly being brought up by Luis and Jude. They said you're one of the best and brightest," he says, giving Nadine a playful look.

"And besides, your plaques and recognition certificates easpecially news articles and lastly your photos are all over the firm so, I think I'll be working with the best lawyer in town"

Nadine laughs at his joke. She can tell that she and him are going to get along just fine, just like the old times.

She can tell that he is different from the rest of her colleagues. Michael's more friendly and a little less uptight.

To her, this is a breath of fresh air; something she hasn't seen in a lawyer in a while.

"Well, I'm glad you have a sense of humor," she says. "Makes work a little less stressful."

"I agree," he says. "Now are you ready for some coffee before we take a look at those files?"

"Yes, please," she says, putting the files aside.

It's after lunch time and James arrives at the office in such a terrible mood. Not only did he not get any sleep from the previous night, but he has also been calling Nadine all morning long.
