Here's your update. Been very busy 😭. Hope you'll going to like it. 🙏🏼
James spent the entire night thinking about his conversation with Bret and what he said to him.
Bret was right, he needs to fight for Nadine. He can't just sit around and wait for her to fall into another man's arms.
He cannot and will not bear it.
He quickly dresses up and grabs his car keys from the kitchen counter. He has to see her tonight; he needs to.
Staying away made him realize how much he truly loves her, and he's been such a fool to even think that he could ever move on and forget about her.
He thought requesting a time-off from work to avoid seeing her will make everything better, but he was wrong.
Because the truth is, he has been miserable since the night he had left her house.
It is now clear to him, more than it has ever been, that Nadine is his world, his everything; that he is nothing without her.
He knows now that he should not have pushed her away. He should have let her in like she begged many times.
He realizes now that all she ever wanted to do was be there for him, but he was too blinded by his own issues and pride to even see that.
He just hopes that it is not too late to fix everything. He cannot lose her; He will not lose her. If he has to go down on his knees again and beg for her to take him back, he would do it. He will do whatever it takes to have her in his life again.
She is it for him; it may sound cliché but he knows in his heart that she is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
Their love may have started at the wrong time but he is certain that she is his soulmate, the one destined for him.
He finally arrives at her driveway and he is relieved to see her car parked in the garage. He walks up to the front door and rings the bell and waits anxiously. A few minutes later, she opens the front door.
She still looks beautiful as he remembers. She is barely awake, and looks a bit confused to see him there.
"Hi," says James. "I hope I didn't wake you."
Seeing her makes his heart jump for joy, but at the same time, it makes his heart ache to hold her and be with her.
He examines her face and he is automatically drawn to her eyes.
In them he sees hurt and pain but like always, she tries to hide it with a fake smile.
"Hi," she greets back. "I was just getting ready for bed," she says coldly, not bothering to invite him in.
"I've missed you," he says, voice filled with so much pain.
He waits for her reaction, any kind of reaction, but she does not react. "Can we talk?" he asks nervously.
Nadine looks on the ground, trying to avoid showing any emotion. "James, it's late and I have to go to work early in the morning."
"Nadine, please," he pleads.
"James, there's nothing left to say."
"Yes, there is. There's a lot more to say. A lot more, Nadine," he says with desperation in his tone.
"It's over," she says quietly.
"Nadine," he says, taking a step forward.
Nadine does not step back, and instead she looks at him, at this man, whom she still loves very much and very deeply, and tries hard to fight her own emotions.
