I couldn't think of the words. "Thank you, but what does that mean 'moon and tide'?"
"Why don't you go for a swim tonight and find out?" She smirked, she smirked. The great goddess Te Fiti was playing with me.
A groan was let out to the side of us, how is he not dead? Maui's breathing grows rapid, his anger radiating. I put a hand on his chest, looking into his eyes as if I could will him to calm down.
"As for you," we look up. She walks towards him with grace. "you are more monster than I can have above the surface," he gasps and crawls backwards. "I hereby banish you to join all the other monsters of this world," she raises a hand and a swirl of leaves, flower petals, and wind push him up and carries him all the way down to the water. The ocean reached up and swallowed him, carrying him the rest of the way to the realm of monsters. "And as for you," she turned to all the coconuts who were shaking with fear. She smiled softly and with a flick of her wrist, the tornado of flower petals placed the leader of their ship at the base of their pile. The all cheered as they engulfed him. "Get to your ship, before some other pirates do." And did they not need another words, they all scurried as fast as their little legs could carry them to the far side of the island. Te Fiti approached us, offering each of us a hand. We both stood. "And you two, you both have been through so much. I speak the truth when I say I don't know what the future holds, but you will always have each other..."
And with that, she faded away. I turn to Maui, he was smirking slightly. I jump and throw my arms around his neck, he swoops and picks me up. We spin and laugh in celebration. I take a deep breath and steady myself when my feet hit the ground again. I look up at the night sky above us, the full moon shines down from centre sky, it's midnight. The ground rumbles and Te Fiti's swirl of leaves and flowers vortexes around the crater, moments later it's seemingly poofs into the air and all the flowers and leaves fall to the ground. The volcano was gone, in its place was Maui's fishhook, and my oar. I couldn't help but smile when I saw his "tweet" was carved into the side.
"Shall we go for a swim?" I grab his hand and lean towards the edge of the mountain that literally was Te Fiti. He laughs and picks me up, cradling me in both arms. He hands me the oar and hook to hold, the hook feels a lot less heavy now.
"I can walk you know," I look at him, he leaned in and kissed me softly.
"I do know that, but I love you too much to let you go now," he smirked. He carried me down the mountain to the beach, we passed our boat and kept walking. I've only actually been here a few times but I think there's a drop off right next to the beach, it's super deep. "Do you think I'll be able to transform like you?" I ask softly, noticing the marks in the wood of my oar, the are the same as his fishhook.
"Maybe, only one way to find out," he lets my feet down on the soft sand, I hand him his fishhook and hold my oar cautiously.
"Ok, so what do I do?" I say, more to myself really.
"Well she said swim so let's start with that," with a huge push I was in that water. I spit out a mouthful and glared at him, he just laughed.
"Come on, let's see what you an do!"
