Billie drove back home the following day, but she was still haunted by the memories of her panic attack. She wasn't sure why she was having doubts about her engagement especially since she knew that Chris was the perfect man for her. And she tried to brush it off as a simple case of cold feet since their wedding plans were now starting to come to fruition.

And even though she had people who were willing to help her out, she still felt overwhelmed because Chris wouldn't be around to give a lot of his input. But she tried to be understanding of his busy schedule and she didn't want to bug him with frivolous details. Nevertheless she still wanted him to be a part of the process since it was their special day and not just hers.

Yet despite everything, she did her best to dispel her worries and put on an unruffled front when she finally arrived home, and her anxiety vanished once she saw him napping on the couch with Dodger. But instead of waking them, she tiptoed into the bedroom and quietly unpacked her things. But while pulling off her hoodie, she was startled when she heard Chris gasp in horror.

"Holy shit! What happened to your back?"

Billie glanced in the mirror and realized that her back was still exacerbated from the day before, which was a shock because she had been pumping herself with Benadryl to hide the evidence. And because she was still flustered, she couldn't tell him the truth and instead said that it was just a weird reaction to something she wore yesterday. Chris gave her a quick kiss on the lips and asked about her photo shoot. And to his surprise Billie actually brought some proofs home and said that they could check them out over lunch.

And once he left the room, she tried to pull herself together but was still tortured with so much fretfulness. It had been years since she had a panic attack so severe and she still wasn't sure what exactly triggered it especially since she was in such a good place in her life. But instead of diving into her deep seated issues, she decided to take her mind off of things by cooking lunch and she was happy to see Dodger begging for food.

"What are you supposed to do?" she said and waited for him to sit. And once his butt hit the floor, she threw him a piece of bacon. "Good boy!"

"I see he finally learned how to sit." Chris said as he entered the room. He joined Billie by the stove and gave her butt a playful squeeze. "I just finished looking at the pictures. I love the nod to Audrey Hepburn."

"Figured you would like that!" Billie said indifferently.

"Everything alright?"

Billie streamlined her feelings as Chris rested his chin on her shoulder, and he knew she was hiding something from the tension in her neck and jawline. She told him that she had a lot on her mind with planning the wedding, as well as her publisher was pressuring her for new material. And although she has written plenty in the past few weeks, she wasn't confident with her work and felt that it was lacking substance.
