The last Straw: Sabine's Destiny

The Spaceport

Kanan and Hera walked to a nearby table. They sat down. "Hera remember him?" Kanan pointed to a Imperial General Officer. Hera took a glance and saw the Officer. "How can I forget? Hey but atleast he saved Zeb." She sighed. "Im gonna go talk to him." Kanan stood up. "I don't like this." "Neither do I." He stated and walked to the booth and sat down. "Ah, my old friend. How are you?" Kallus chuckled. "Glad to see you're not in Imperial hands yet." He had a sly smirk. "Cut the crap Kallus I know you have a ship here and we need help finding Sabine and the others." Kanan looked at Kallus. "It's put in the back." "The back of what?" Kanan asked. "The back of the Imperial base about a half mile away."  Kallus got up. "I'll see you there Jedi Knight." Kallus rushed out. Kanan walked back to Hera. "We have to go now. We need his ship." Hera got up quickly. "What?" Kanan grabbed her forearm and almost dragged her out. "Kallus has a ship we can use to leave." "Do we trust it though?" "We have to it is our only kriffin' way off this damn planet." "Kanan!" "Woops sorry." He started to run hoping Hera was following but also hoping she wasn't mad.

Kallus was getting his ship ready for takeoff. "Where are you going sir?" Asked Officer Lee. "Going to the Star-Destroyer above the Spaceport Sir." "Be safe Kallus. Don't forget about the Rebels." He smiled and walked away. Kallus rolled his eyes.

Off in the distance Hera and Kanan were looking over the base. "We can't go in there Kanan." Hera looked over. "It's our only chance off this planet!" Off in the distance they heard a war cry. "Kanan?!" "Hera get down." He covered her head as blaster bolts flew over them. They looked behind them to see Hondo and his crew on their cylces. "Grab my hand friend!" He called forward as he neared Kanan. Kanan grabbed Hera and in a split second, grabbed Hondos hand and they road into the Imperial Base. "Which one do you need?!" Hondo asked. Hera pointed to the Imperial Shuttle in the muddle of the base. "That one!" "Hold on my friends!" Hondo sped into the base shooting a few troopers. He halted infront of the ship. "Go my friends I'll cover you along with my men." He said as he sped off again Kanan and Hera ran into the ship. "Glad to see you made it Jedi, and Pilot." "We wouldn't miss it." The shuttle took off with a slow start. "Can't this thing go faster??!!" Kanan looked scared. "No it can't it's a shuttle." He siad calmly as it entered the Atmosphere.

"Fall back men!" A trooper called out as he got shot. Hondo's men would overall win this war and claim the base.

Kallus flew past the Star-Destroyer and entered hyperspace. They would leave hyperspace and see another shuttle. "We've got company!" Kallus called, Kanan entered the gunner spot and would start shooting. Sabine and her crew were in the other shuttle.
