The last Straw: Sabine's Destiny

Mandalores End

The Ghost touched down on the surface of Mandalore. The back door opening, the Ghost crew walked onto the snow covered ground. In the distance was the building were Ursa Wren resided. The Skys were cloudy and snow dropped down lightly. The air was cold and the ground was being covered in a new blanket of snow.

Kanan was the first one to speak. "How come Vader isn't here?" Everyone but Chopper shifted in slight fear. "Obviously not here." Ezra said said grimfully. "Well where is he?" Asked Hera. As soon as she finished her sentence Sabine cut in. "Listen guys who cares where he is right now we have to go warn my mother and all of Mandalore!" Sabine swiftly put on her helmet. "Sabine's right, we have to help them prepare." Ezra said highly. "We can't let them win, not again, not ever." Sabine said smiling under her helmet. "I know we can do this guys." She said, the Ghost crew smiled after many months together they knew they could do anything. "Let's move people." Zeb said. The others started moving in a swift pace to the palace. Sabine and Ezra had other plans, they both put on their jetpacks and lifted off the ground. Sabine gave a light wave and then flew off with Ezra to the palace door front. They both landed and Sabine ran inside pushibg two guards out of the way so she could get to her mother. Sabine made it to the main area and saw her mother talking to a Mandalorian guard. "Mom!" Sabine ran behind her and held her close. "Vader is comi-" Ursa turned around and held Sabine. "Sabine I thought I would never see you again!" Ursa kept her grip on Sabine. "Mother Vader is coming to take over Mandalore, he has the darksaber!" Sabine said. "She's right Ursa we have to prepare for a fight with the Empire!" Ezra called out behind them. The rest of the crew finally filed inside the palace. "No! Sabine I told you I don't want anything to do with your silly little rebellion." Ursa cut in. "Listen he's bringing the fight to you not us! You see this planet? Your people will die if he gains control of Mandalore! He's coming for you first." Sabine said drastically. "We can't stop him." Sabine said, "Not alone..." Ursa whispered something to the guard she was talking to earlier and he ran off. "Listen we will fight but after this we want nothing. Im having my men partol the outskirts for any sight of movement. But for now we need to take care of everyone else." Ursa said softly. "I'll gather the rest of the Mandalorians. Meet here at dawn. You will tell them of this coming battle." Ursa walked into the master chambers. Sabine turned around to see everyone. "You heard her. Get everything ready." The Ghost crew nodded, they walked to the Ghost. Preparing for anything and everything.

As the passed the Ghost crew was growing tired. Dawn was another hour away and Mandalore was covered in a blanket of fresh snow. The cold air filled the Ghost. "Someone turn the heat on!" Zeb called. "We can't we would waste fuel!" Hera yelled. "Well im freezin' here!!" Zeb yelled back. "Deal with it Zeb." Kanan walked by. "Save that rage for the battle." Kanan said shortly before walking off. Ezra was with Sabine in her room. "So what if Vader doesn't come?" Ezra asked. "He will." "But what if he doesn't? You never know..." Ezra said softly. "Listen Ezra I know he's coming and I for sure know that we're going to defend this place with our lives." Sabine said. "Right." Ezra nodded and stood up. Sabine turned towards Ezra, "You leaving?" She asked. Ezra shook his head yes, before he left he gave Sabine an embracing hug. He kissed her cheek and dashed out of the room before she could say anything. Sabine blushed lightly and started to polish her helmet.

On the other side of Mandalore a small ship landed in the outskirts of a Mandalorian base. The ship landed with stealth. The back bay door opened and walking down the ramp was the Sith Lord known as Darth Vader. As Vader neared the base Mandalorians heard the sound of heavy breathing two of them stood up and walked outside their tent looking around. "What's that?" One of them asked. "Probably a Wolf or somethin'" the other replied. The split second after the last word a lightsaber came towards the two and lightning speed. "Watc-!" The lightsaber split the to Mandalorians in half, they fell to the ground bleeding like mad. The rest of the Mandalorians came out of the Tent. They had their weapons drawed. Vader smirked under his mask. "Put your saber down! You're out numbered Vader." The leader said. Vader instantly grabbed ahold of him with his force choke. Brining the leader next to him. "Tell your men to yield or i'll take you out one by one." Vader said in a low voice. He nodded and motioned them to drop their weapons. They dropped their guns. Vader smirked and cut the leaders head clean off. He then proceeded to kill and murder every single one of the Mandalorians of the base.

Dawn came and Sabine was nervously waiting for the Mandalorian army to arrive in the Main area. Ursa Wren walked up to Sabine. "We can't find 12 of our men." "What outpost?" Sabine asked. "Outpost 9" Ursa said. Sabine nodded and ran outside immediately turning her jetpack on and flying over to Outpost 9. When she landed all she saw was bloody corpses. Sabine looked around for evidence. She looked at a samller tent and saw a slash mark and smoke. "This was.... Vader..." With out hesitation Sabine flew to the Ghost and ran inside. "Vader is here somewhere!" She called out. Hera quickly jumped down to her. "Well go warn everyone!" Sabine nodded and ran to the palace. As she entered she saw about twenty Mandalorians standing aiming their mk-37's at the one and only Lord Vader. In his hand being choked was Sabines mother. Ursa. Vader dropped Ursa as he saw her daughter run into the room grabbing her pistols. "This is where it ends Rebel." Vader ignited his Red Lightsaber and the Darksaber he had stolen.

The air tensed. Vader had the two sabers. And Sabine had two guns. Mandalore was on the line. Would Sabine win or not?
