(ZODIAC'S POV)

I was alone in the ship when I came to. I could hear Ezra, and thank god the droid as well, maybe looking for something on the planet that the star map showed as Tatoonie. What they were looking for was beyond me, but I had a headache so I decided to stay inside the ship while they looked for whatever it was they were looking for.

"ZODIAC !" Ezra yelled not twelve minutes later. I looked in the direction his eyes were just looking at in a frantic state. Sand people. Never saw one in person before now, but they actually looked kinda like kid. At that thought I gave a small laugh which was quickly ended when they stared firing at the ship. I opened the hatch door and jumped out of the ship as in burst into bits and pieces of nothing. Ezra made his way over to me and helped me up.

"So" I began looking at him with eyes filled to the brim with on coming sarcasim. "About borrowing that ship".

"Shut up" He said playfully punching me in the arm. And we began our walk to wherever. During the walk we started playing a weird game of never-have-I-ever, turns out both of us have a strange addiction to the taste of Rodian peppers.

"Ezra, where are we going ?" I finally asked looking ahead seeing that we were about to head into the vastest and driest part of the whole planet. Almost nobody but crazy people lived out there. After a long pause Ezra turned to me and gently grabbed me by both my shoulders and turned me towards him.

"Zodiac" he began sadness, regret, fear, desperation burned in his eyes and could be seen with the bare eye growing out of control. "Please, follow the ridge to the small town and contact the base I beg you". I could see he didn't want to be left alone with his demons, but I could also see that he meant what he said. Going out there without the needed stuff was a death sentence.

"I'm coming with you" I said lifting his head which had fallen down to my chest. I could see a little hope swim quickly through the bright orbs I've grown to love and he lifted himself up right once again. We both turned towards the dessert and with one last heavy sigh we began walking into the beasts' belly.

-----------TIME SKIP-------------

Ezra had gone mad. That had to be the answer. Who else would walk into a death sentence on their own, looking for some one who may not even be here and if they are they're probably dead.

"Ezra" I called out to the boy who had for some time now been walking some ways in front of me.

"Ezra" I called out again. The sand was getting rougher and wilder. I could barely see where he was. All that indicated that I was not alone was the outline of the boy slowly moving through the storm. Suddenly the out line collapsed.

"EZRA !" I yelled running towards the fallen figure. I bumped into something hard in my desperate attempt to reach Ezra and froze when I saw the droid turned off by the looks of it, but still frightening. 'Ezra' I then recalled as I turned towards the passed out boy. He was drenched in his own sweat and in obvious need of some cold water. I had no idea what to do and in the state I was in I was about to pass out as well. I closed my eyes and tried to think, but my mind kept going to places that I never wanted to return to. Suddenly, relife? The sun was blocked out by a shadow looming over us giving some minor comfort. By the shape of the shadow I cloud make out a person. Human by the basic shape and male by the broad shoulders. I gripped Ezra's hand as the figure loomed over me and his unconscious body.

"Rest" The figure said "I promise you'll need it soon enough". I closed my eyes and blacked out.

"Daddy daddy, look" A four year old me said holding up a small white water snake. My father looked down at the beautiful and rare creature.
