Georgie and I look at each other with utter confusion. What does this mean?

We both look out our window to see a small crowd starting to form around the Leader's Court. We run down the stairs of our building and fling the door open as we sprint to join the crowd.

Something is wrong. That voice sounded nothing like anyone from here.

"ehmm," The leader clears his throat and adjusts his collar. "I think i have a huntch of why you are all here today. Well, do not panic anyone, its just a check up. So everyone please go on with your jobs and do not worry, everything is under control."

"You Liar!" I here someone call out as the leaders hides back into the court.

"Dove!" I hear Haden say frantically as he comes up behind me.

"Whats going on?" I ask.

"Beats me." He replies.

"If anything, those radio guys are gonna do kill someone or something of ours" Georgie theorizes.

"Come on Georgina lets just stay calm." Haden says calmly even though i can tell he is running a mile a minute in his mind.

"I don't Fucking care if you want me to stay calm, you seriously don't want share any of your crazy theories on whats going on?" Georgie cusses.

"Guys, stop, just go to work we'll find out whats going on soon." I intervene and Georgie walks off to her job.

Haden and i do the same.

I see men and a few woman stomp into town not a second late after 2. Georgie and I sit mechanically in our apartment. I watch as i see different roommates walking out of their rooms at gun point. 

I watch as they drag them one by one until they sit cross legged on the gravel. I look at Georgie, my face saying nothing but worry. 

"Come here." She says patting on a seat next to her.

I walk over and sit down.

"No matter what you will not let them take you, got me?" She says sternly.

"O-ok." I stutter.

I lay my head on her shoulder and remember the first memory i have, it was when i met Georgie and we had started to live together.

I walk into my new home! I'm so excited to see who ill be living with for the rest of my life!

I open the door to find a pale girl with fire orange hair about my age. She smiles at me revealing her freckled face, she almost has a cat or fox-like face.

"Hi I'm Georgina, Georgina White." She says getting up to outstretch her hand.

"I'm, Dove Evans." I say shyly.

"Nice to meet you dove! I can tell we are going to be best friends!" She squeals shaking my hand rapidly.

"Ok." I say smiling.

I'm shaken out of my memory as a large man bursts through our door with a gun.

"Get up! Get up!" He yells urgently and we get up as he motions the gun out to the hallway.

He follows us through the crowd of other coming out from their apartments and downstairs. We make it out of the building and i shield my eyes from the blinding sun. He leads us to a spot in the gravel where we quickly sit. 

Haden is in front of us and i tap his back. He turns around and his solemn face lights up.

"Dove!" He whispers excitedly.

"What are we going to do-" I start but I'm cut off from a large man standing where the leader should be.

"Good afternoon deforms." He says rudely. "I'm sorry for any disturbances we have caused today." 

"Tell us whats going on already!" A person yells out and stands up.

"Here ill show you." He says whipping out a gun and shoots the person directly in their forehead.

I hear a couple people gasp and start to cry as the body hits the gravel.

"Ok, now anyone else going to disrupt me?" The man asks. "Now you deforms will listen to anything my people say or you will end up like him." He points at the dead body in a woman's arms.

"I want everyone in the cafeteria now!" He yells.

I see Houston and 4 other people run up and start to attack some guards. He looks at me and mouths "Run". I spring up and grab Georgie and Haden's collar and make a beeline for the woods. I see a few other people i recognize running behind us,as I look back for a split second. 

The split second that the guards murder Houston with 4 shots to the chest. I can feel a single tear roll down my cheek and it goes back as it fall down into the gravel.

I keep running as fast as my long heavy legs will allow. I cannot believe i just did that! I also cant believe Houston died, he saved me by telling me to run. I hear a gun shot go off about 30 feet behind us and i take a sharp right the group following.

I stop when i don't hear any signs of civilization. I gulp in the air like its water in the dessert, my legs feel as if they are like my arm.

"What. The. Hell. Was that back there!" Georgie yells of out breath.

"I have no clue." I say honestly.
