I didn't sleep at all last night I was also thinking about Houston. Paranoia is getting the best of me.
No one, absolutely no one is in this god damn town! My home.
Late last night I thought I saw a flash of light but it was just lightning. I'm going crazy.
Once willow had woken up and was feeling refreshed we had decided to search the town and that brings up to now.
"Willow your like my daughter. You know that right?" I ask.
"Yes. I've never had a mom before!" She squeals in excitement.
I see something whisk in front of my vision. I whip out my gun and aim it at where I last saw the figure.
Willow clings to my legs and I feel a rush of protectiveness wash over me. This kid needs me and I will NOT let her down.
"Who's there!" I shout warningly.
"Hey, hey hey!" Someone shouts.
"Who are you!" I persist.
"Drop don't point the gun at me!" He says.
"Get out of the bushes first!" I yell still pointing the gun.
"Yea yea yea." He says annoyed emerging from the bushes and I lowering my gun.
"Who the hell are you!" I ask.
"My name is Smith." He says.
"Oh yea that's totally all I wanted to know." I say sarcastically.
"Great now that we are done here I'll be going." He says. He's a smart ass.
"What's that jacket for." I ask looking at a seal on it.
"I'm a doctor." He says proudly.
"Awesome! Can you check out her arm?" I plead.
"Why?" He asks skeptically.
"She was bit." I explain.
"Fine." He agrees and unwraps her bandages as she whimpers.
"Just keep doing what your doing and she should be fine." He says and I can tell he is lying about something. "Now what's your guys' names?"
"I'm Dove and that's Willow."
"OK nice to meet you two now can I tag along with you guys?" He asks.
"Sure we are just going back to the other town." Willow decides chippy.
I shoot her a glare since I don't trust this man. The discoloration from her wound has taken over her entire arm but she just hasn't noticed somehow. Im praying that this isn't anything horrible enough to kill her.
We all walk to the cafeteria and try to put together a scrappy meal. My stomach is killing me.
I can tell willow is hungry by the way she chows down the package of precooked chicken.
Its like the entire town just evacuated leaving all of their shit behind.
This scares me because what if they did, and why? So many questions are swirling around my mind and there's nothing I can do about them.
"So you two sisters or something?" Smith asks.
"Sure." I say dazed.
"Hmmm." He ponders and I snap out of it a bit creeped out.
We decide to try and make it as quickly back to the other town as we can because there is nothing I can do here. This place is left exactly as we left it.
