I tip toe of the room holding my boots in my hand. I struggle opening the door with my one hand holding my boots.

I set the boots down and then continue my way out of the house.

I make sure to be extra quiet when leaving but I set my boots down too hard.

"Dove..?" I hear Georgie ask sleepily. "What are...you doing..?"

"Just going for a walk Georgie go back to sleep." I brush off. "I love you Georgie." I say and I'm at the brim of tears.

"I love you too dove." She says and goes back to sleep.

I shut the door behind me and breath a sigh of relief. I put my boots on and continue to walk down the hallway.

Haden at work had his locker which always kept a gun inside.

My plan is: a) get out of the apartment. Check. B) get the gun. Soon to be check. C) go kill the mother fuckers that ruined my home. Will be check.

I realize that no one is out this early and I basically have the city to myself for a few more hours. But this gives me the perfect chance to sneak into the protection facility and grab Haden's gun.

I reach the building and try to open the glass doors but no luck. Shit of course it would be locked.

I walk around the building until, to my luck, there is an open window. Haha, stupid protectors.

I slip through The window to where I land in a bathroom. I look around through the urinals until I find the door out.

I walk through the halls. Its eerily quiet like its just waiting for something to happen.

I follow the signs leading to the locker room. Where I remember Haden's locker number:733. I undo the lock and the door pops open. His gun is lying there helpless on the top shelf.

I grab it and some amo and make a break out of the protectors facility. I run my heart pumping with adrenaline as I run through the front gates.

Its all forestry and a faint travel road with grass and weeds running through the middle of the "path". The gun is in my hand and I have the amo in my pocket.

I continue to walk in a brisk pace. I feel like a kid again, as if there will be monsters at every turn and they will jump out and scare me.

The sun is starting to get higher into the sky. Its not helping my childish fear of the dark.

I probably should've brought a flash light with me. But stupid irrational me didn't think of it.

I hear a faint twig being broken. I lower myself to the ground and whip out my gun.

Another twig broken. Leaves crumpled.

I can feel goosebumps rising up my neck. I have a gut feeling that something is there.

I see a dark head pop up from the branches.

Along with that comes another head but The other head is making noises.

An all too familiar noise. A piercing shriek escapes one of the heads. I see a shimmer of hair and I recognize it.

"Willow!" I scream lunging toward her and the creature.

I get there just in time to see it bite her arm. I shoot that thing mercilessly in the head. It falls to The ground and no blood appears from the wound.

But from willows blood does appear. I carry her to a rock and sit her down as I ask her why she followed me.

"I saw you left. I wanted to go with you." She explains. "I know if I asked you wouldn't had let me go."

"You're right. You've put yourself in too much danger." I say ripping off a piece of my sleeve and tie it around the wound.

Its a thick shirt so it should hold off the blood for a bit.

---

For most of the walk I had been giving willow a piggy back ride because she had been mostly tired after the incident.

I also didn't want to overwork her to make sure she was healthy.

We pass the bunker around noon and we should make it to our old town before sunset I'm hoping. The walk it taking longer because of the weight from willow. But I'm willing to endure the struggle.

I stop and set Willow down softly since she is sleeping peacefully. I adjust her wrap to make sure the bloody side is now opposite of the wound and "fresh" cloth is covering the wound now.

It seems different from any bite wound I've heard of or seen. Its turning a tiny bit dark purplish-orange.

I had to wake her up so that she could get onto my back. All those years picking up kids must've really strengthened my back.

I just keep thinking about how much safer the other would be without me there. I might also be a hero and save my town.

I need to figure out a plan. I have one gun and about 2 packets of amo. That should be enough to kill off a few of those shady government officials.

I can go through the cafeteria back door and possibly sneak out to my building. I just need to hope that everyone is still in their apartments at the time. They should be.

I can maybe gather some if The people in my building and we can storm into the leaders court and fight off the bastards. I mean if there's enough we could really do it.

Willow could stay in Georgie and mine's place. I don't want her getting hurt more than she already is. She is all I have left right now I can't afford to loose to her, a lose like this would destroy me.

Then once we have finally restored the town I can go back to the other one and get Georgie and Haden. Bingo and everything is solved and I can live out my life regular again.

Let's just hope that my plan goes as planned.

Hey! Hope you like this chapter! I know I haven't updated in a long time but I haven't found out what to write and I've kinda been in a case of writers block lately but I figured out how to continue and here it is!
