"They were all infected and the bodies were put in tubs of water to help kill the virus inside of their brains. Water paralyzed the virus but it won't do much good since the water will evaporate within a week." Smith says.

"So does everyone on this island have it?" I ask.

"Yes most likely you see, all of the radiation from when you were born has slowly been eating away at your body until it has eaten everything and has basically thrown you into a zombie state. Which you have brown shedding skin and inhuman like features. If bitten can make those parasites kick into hyper speed at their job of eating flesh which is why we have been killing those bitten or showing the symptoms of the disease." He explains expertly.

"I've seen those zombie creatures way before anyone knew anything about it." I say.

"The government saw the creatures on the cameras set around the island and made it top priority to stop the disease before it goes air born." He explains.

"So we all have it?" I ask again wanting a more simple answer.

"Yea, just some of the parasites are slower than others. Younger kids are less likely to expire faster than older people unless bitten." He says and I can see how sorry he is about Willow.

"O-ok." I say trying to let everything sink in.

"Put willow down I need to tell you something." He says and she tries to hang on to me as I set her down but I pry her off.

We walk about 15 ft away from willow and he leans in to tell me something.

"She been bit, either you can kill her sooner before the pain of her body wilting sets in or you let her live out her last few days but become a zombie. Once killed after being a zombie she will have to be thrown in the ocean." He says monotonous.

"I can't believe it, its only been a few days since she's been bit. How long do you think she has?" I ask.

"5 days at most. You need to make your decision don't tell her until its absolutely necessary." He says harshly.

"I can't kill her Smith, not now, not ever. She's just a little girl!" I say and I can feel a tear trickle down my cheek.

"Its your decision let her writhe in pain or do it while she's happy." He says.

"Can we just wait until we make it back to the other town. I need her to say good bye to someone." I demand.

"Ok but you can't kill her in the town once her brain is exposed it will spread faster to the others." He says.

"Yes." I say walking back to Willow and I pick her back up onto my back.

"Where are we going?" She asks sleepily.

"Back to the other town." I say robotic.

"Okey." She says and drifts back of to sleep and smith follows me.

We stop as Willow cries out in pain. I immediately kneel down and swing her off of my back and lay her down.

Her wound is pussing out green and orange foam.

Willows eyes are still closed but I can see her mouth open, screaming bloody murder.

We are maybe 30 ft from a different bunker not the one we got arrested in. Hopefully it has some water to wash the puss out with and for all of us to drink.

"We can lift her to the bunker and fix her." I say loudly over her screams.

"Ok!" He says and lifts up her legs.

I put my inside elbow where her neck is and lift up with all the might I can and we lift her all the way to the bunker.

We set her down right next to the entrance and we are mostly deaf now from her screaming.

"Hey I'll go down and I'll try to carry her down!" He yells and follows his own orders.

I climb down as fast as I can with my only hand and he sets her down on the cement floor.

I hop down the last step and I immediately kneel down next to her screaming body.

"Willow!" I scream shaking her.

"She's probably starting to feel the virus eat away faster at her insides!" Smith screams.

"What can we do for her!?" I scream.

"Nothing! Remember your choices! We might have a chance of her waking up non-zombie!" He yells.

"I can't kill her! Its too soon!" I scream.

She stops, stops screaming that is.

"What the hell?" He says confused. "She stopped?"

"Yea..." I say skeptic. "I think we should just sleep and see how she is in the morning."

"Let's try and feed her something." He says formally.

"Ok, well we are gonna have to find some first." I say.

"Ok let's just stay close to willow and hope food is close." He says.

"Ok I'll stay here with willow and you can explore." I say sitting down and trying to fix Willows matted hair with my fingers.

"Ok. See you in less than half an hour." He says.

"Wait! Take my gun in case you need it." I say handing it to him.

"Ok thanks." He says starting off down a corridor.

Its very quiet and very dim-lit. I can only hear Willow's shallow breaths.

Hopefully willow makes it out alive 😭 she is my favorite girl next to Dove, she kinda reminds me of how prim is to katniss in the hunger games. Anyway please!!!!!
