Chapter 13

Marcel's POV

I grab my bowl of Frosted Flakes off the kitchen counter, and plop down on my couch, flipping on the tv in the process. I lazily crunch on the cereal, and stop on some game show, even though I can't hear the participants' answers, because of my munching. I don't pay much attention as my mind starts to wonder back to what Veronica had done yesterday, letting everyone know about our relationship. I wonder what people thought, probably 'ew why is she with that, dork'. And even though that thought slightly angered me, I remembered I'm the one who's with Veronica, I'm the one she chose. So why the hell should I care what people think of our relationship?

That kiss has been all I could think about for the past day. How right it felt and how much I really wanted it to happen again. I hadn't been able to see Veronica today, because she had to be in conferences with Jonny and Harvey, to document statements, or something like that. I missed not seeing Veronica today, her beautiful smile and her glowing face, she was just always joyful and it made me smile to see her like that. I go to take another spoonful of my Frosted Flakes and realize that all my thinking of Veronica caused my cereal to go soggy.

"Gross." I mutter as I place the bowl on the coffee table.

My phone, then blares throughout the apartment, causing me to leap up, jog to the kitchen, and grab my phone off the counter.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey, Mar!" Louis' energetic voice rings through the phone.

"Hey, Lou. What's up?" I question.

"Um, you promised to call me yesterday to tell me everything that was going on between you and Veronica! But you never called and I didn't see you today, because I was so busy. Anyways, tell me what happened. Now!" Louis says, erratically.

"Lou, calm down. Not much happened." I lie, knowing that it only makes Louis even more annoyed.

"Bullshit! Everybody was talking about how she jumped on you and basically was ready to take you right then and there."

I choke on the surrounding air, "Louis, what the fuck? That did not happen!"

"Alright, then tell me what did happen."

I recap what happened the night Veronica came to my apartment, the argument we had yesterday morning at work, and the inconceivable kiss that shortly followed.

"God damn." Louis breathes, causing me to erupt into laughter.

"Yeah."

"Why is it that you get the hot girl? I mean, is Veronica secretly blind and she just happens to play it off so well? Because what the hell? I am way better looking than you, just saying."

"Thanks, Lou. Always so heartwarming to know that my best friend supports me and my relationship." I say sarcastically.

"I do support you're relationship. I just think that maybe you're paying her?" Louis laughs at his own joke.

"Ha-ha, you're so hilarious. Let's not forget who even has a girlfriend." I tease.

"Ouch. I felt that one." Louis gasps, mockingly.

I'm about to tease him again when I hear a knock at my door. What the-? I wasn't expecting anyone.

"Hey, Lou, I'll talk to you later, someone's at the door."

"Okay, bye, Mar! Make sure you give Veronica a tip for actually going through with kissing you." Louis chuckles.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever, Tomlinson. Just keep using your Kate Upton poster." I retort, causing Louis to laugh even harder before ending the call.
