As soon as those words left her mouth I froze, what was I supposed to say to that. My heart was racing pounding in my chest ready to explode. "I don't know to be completely honest with you Fi, I guess I have liked you for as long as I can remember but didn't want to act on it due to ruining our amazing friendship," I explained breathing in her sweet scent as I curled protectively around her so that we were spooning me as the big spoon and her as the little spoon. "I like you too Hugh, I have just been very confused about it I guess." I paused breathing hard before responding "wait so you actually like me, as in more than a friend," "well as close as we are Hugh and that's pretty close since we have known each other our entire lives I'm pretty sure Best Friends don't kiss each other so I guess so, yeah!" Was this real or was this another one of my crazy dreams were everything I wanted to happen. "Okay, would you like to be my girlfriend then, I mean you're a good kisser and I wouldn't mind kissing you again," I asked holding in a breath scared of getting rejected. There was a moment's pause before Fiona answered "well your not that bad of a kisser yourself Apiston, so I will take up that offer and become your girlfriend," OMG. THIS WAS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE! I WASN'T A LONELY POTATO ANYMORE WHO WAS SCARED OF GETTING FRIEND ZONED. THIS WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Now that we have gotten that sorted I muttered a quick goodnight, pecked my 'girlfriend' (god I love calling her that) on the forehead before falling into an easy slumber the girl of my dreams in my arms. The next morning I awoke to a dead arm and a whole load of hair in my face yet I wouldn't have it any other way. Snuggling closer I breathed in her fresh scent, my good arm wrapping around my girlfriend holding her closer to me. This is the life. A few minutes later I jumped at the sound of my alarm beeping loudly behind my back. I groaned why did school always have to start so early. With one arm I awkwardly tried to turn my alarm off, succeeding only on the eleventh try "come on Fi we have school to get to," I called to the girl who was lying beside me. She mumbled something before pushing her long hair off her face. I could see a scar above her right eyebrow that I had never see before. Pushing a strand of hair off her face I decided to ask the question that was annoying me, "Fi, umm how long has your father been hurting you like this for?" The girl in question looked down not meeting my curious gaze before quietly answering "Since mum died," I paused not wanting to believe that it had been that long. "Why didn't you tell anyone," the look Fiona gave me made it look like I was stupid "It's not that simple Hugh trust me otherwise I would have done something about it years ago," "right sorry that was a stupid question, also I'm curious on how you got that scar right here," I asked gently tracing my finger over it. Giggling at my excuse of an apology she smiled the smile that I loved before answering "when I was younger I was running then I tripped over and cut myself with the edge of the street curb right above my eyebrow." The two of us laughed before heading downstairs to get ready for school.
