After talking to Duck I make my way up to my chambers to see Raidyn is changing Riesner.

"Hey." I say softly as I shut the door.

"Hey." He grins.

"Why didn't you tell me Duck asked you for Raven's hand?"

"Did you ask her?" Raidyn says appalled.

"No. Duck told me."

"I didn't mean to keep anything from you. He asked me to keep it to myself. People gossip around here and he wanted to surprise her."

"Oh." I sit on the bed and hide the book behind my back. "You're excited about their soon to be engagement?"

"That is, if she says yes." He says jokingly.

"She's happy with him." I nod my head as I put the book in my side table drawer.

"Then of course I'm excited. I'm happy if she is."

"Riesner can have little cousins." I smile.

"He has a step cousin."

"Don't forget a soon to be half uncle or aunt that is younger than he is."

"Poor kid." Raidyn finishes up changing Ries and cradles him in his arms.

I chuckle. "What a handsome little prince. Bring him over here."

"Mom just loves to take you from me, little man." Raidyn whispers to Ries as he strides over to me.

"You can still hold him. I just want my two boys close to me." I scoot over on the bed.

"I just want for you two to never leave again and for all this chaos to be over with."

I brush Raidyn's hair back. "Don't worry about us." I whisper. "We're safe."

"I love you. Every second you were gone I was worried about you both and what you were up to. It makes me nervous to have you both so far away from me. If anything was to have happened and I wasn't there..." Raidyn's throat tightens causing him to stop.

I sit in his lap careful of the baby still in his arms. "Raidyn, we're fine. Stop stressing out." I kiss him. "It's you who we worry most about--you're in battle."

"There's not enough laced arrows that could stop me from getting back to you and Ries."

I look down at Ries and smile, he's awake with his green eyes wide and looking up at us smiling. I grab his long hair and wrap a hair tie around it as the pony tail sticks straight up on top of his head. "Oh my Gods look at him--do we have to cut it?" I say amused.

"He's going to look like a princess soon." Raidyn laughs.

I grab another hair tie from Raidyn's side table and put his hair up the same way. "Aw look at my Princess and my Queen."

"Should we ask the village ladies if they see me the same way? I wear my hair up a lot and I've never been called a queen..." Raidyn teases me smirking.

"Such a sassy Queen you are." I kiss him.

"No way. I could never be a queen; especially not in this kingdom." Raidyn shakes his head.

"Especially not in this kingdom? So what you could be one in others? Like the East? Maybe you can marry Bren."

"Well Byrd," he whispers, "the king in this kingdom, as with Bren, has a reputation and I'm a lady, not some common whore."

I take Ries from him. "Oh really? The Dark King sounds repulsing then. I feel bad for whoever gets tangled up with him."

"Utterly repulsive. Especially with those killer good looks and a rocking bod." He nods seriously, amusement was in his eyes and the flashes in them more brightened than usual.
