Chapter 20: the big decision

Just to warn you I started crying a little writing this chapter

T---Jenny's point of view---

I'm truly not as happy as I put my self out to be. I miss cheerleading. And honestly I can't see myself cheering for California all-stars even though Matt and Jamie are. I have been thinking about asking to move back. Even if it means leaving Dalton, my mom, cole, and the rest of the boys. I love being with them I really do but I realized I need cheerleading in my life. I'm gonna talk to my mom today and see what she says.

Later that day the boys were at work so I decided to talk to my mom about moving back to Texas.

"Mom, can I talk to you?" I asked nervously

"Of course sweetie what you need?"

"I want to cheer again." I told her calmly. "I can't stand not cheering."

"Well you can tryout for coach eddies team that Matt and Jamie are on."

"I can't cheer there. I couldn't see myself cheering anywhere other then at cheer Athletics."

"Jennifer you can't just pack up your life and move for cheer"

"But mom it's what I love to do!"

"Let's say I let you go, where would you stay? I have to work here in LA still so I wouldn't be able to go with you."

"I understand that I could see if I could live with grandma."

"Let me think about it."

"Okay mom I love you thank you for at least thinking about it."

I gave her a hug and went up to my room.

How am I going to tell dalton I want to move back to Texas. he's probably going to be heart broken. I decided to call cheer athletics to see if it's even possible to come back this season.

After phone call

"MOOOOM!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. I started running down the stair

"Okay I'll tell her goodbye mom.. love you too." My mom got off the phone with my grandma.

"Mom coach said they need an new flyer on cheetahs cause Caroline sprained her ankle. I can go back to cheer athletics next week!"

"Oh that's good, not that Caroline sprained her ankle but I want you doing what you love"

"What did grandma say?"

"She'd love for you to stay with them. JENNY YOURE GOING BACK TO TEXAS!!! awe baby I'm going to miss you."

"I'm gonna miss you too but we can FaceTime all the time and you can come to my competitions still." my mom smiled and was about to speak when the door flung open to 4 pretty mad boys and one crying dalton. I went over to dalton and hugged him

"What's wrong baby?"

"Can we talk in private?" i nodded and grabbed his hand a went up to my room.

"What's wrong, dalton?" I asked sitting in the bed.

"I-I-umm just quit IM5."

"Why?"

"It's not for me. the boyband life, the restrictions. I don't like it." I rubbed his back as he spoke. "I've been talking to Hunter lately and told him how I was feeling. he suggested I quit. after a lot of thinking I decided to do it. I'm writing a letter to all the 5ers tonight."

I kissed his cheek.

"I think you made the right decision. you weren't truly happy. even I could see that. now that we're talking about being truly happy. I'm-" dalton cut me off

"Jennifer I'm not done." he said harshly "Jennifer I'm moving. I'm moving back to Texas." I jumped on him giving him a hug and screamed. "I'm sorry babe but I also decided that I'm going to be in Fly Away Hero with Hunter"

"Dalton that was a happy scream!" his face went from sad to really confused. "I was about to tell you I'm moving to Texas to cheer again. I'm going to be in Dallas."

"This is the best news all day. I'm going to Dallas too! babe this means we can still be together!"

We were hugging and he was kissed my forehead repeatedly. he started to whisper "I love you" in between each kiss.

we heard a knock on the door

"Come in!" I yelled

"Dalton can I talk to you alone?"

I got up and left

--- Dalton's point of view---

"What's up cole?"

"I just wanted to say I love you and I'm gonna miss you. I can't believe it's been 3 years already. I hope you find what you're looking for and become the rockstar you are."

"Thanks buddy. I love you too. and I hope you guys understand. can we still be brothers?"

"We will always be brothers no matter what. and who knows Jenny and you might end up marrying each other so then we can be brother in laws and brothers." I laughed at his comment.

"Did you hear? Jenny's moving to Texas to cheer again."

"No I didn't, wow I can't believe I'm losing my sister again."

"Cole you're not losing your sister. she gonna be a few short hours on a plane away." I rubbed his back

"Dinner!" my mom yelled.

We got up and raced to the kitchen.

"Smmmm" I smelled the air "chicken!" I sat at the table in between Jenny and cole.

Jenny and I are leaving next week. I can't believe this is happening.

After dinner I went up to my room I locked the door and started writing my note for the 5ers.

"Dear friends," I started the note an hour later finished the note. I re read it making sure it was good. I was in tears.

The note reads (this is his actual note just incase you haven't read it yet.)

"Dear friends,

It's with mixed emotion that I tell you last night was my final performance with IM5. It has been an amazing journey that I will forever be grateful for, but it's time for me to move on. To be clear, I am now and will always be, a huge fan of the guys as a group and also as individuals, but as a performer, I feel called to change directions. I'm not completely certain where I'm headed or exactly what I'll be doing (although I assure you there will be big drums and loud guitars involved)

I want to thank you all for your incredible support over the past 3 years and I promise to work my hardest to earn your support moving forward. I have been so blessed to be a part of IM5 and I leave with a heavy but thankful heart because these guys have been my family through good times and bad. It's been such a tough decision, but I feel like it's right for me and I hope everyone will understand.

I wish Will, Cole, Dana, & Gabe nothing but success as they move forward without me. It's my understanding that IM5 will continue on and it's my hope that you'll keep supporting them as they grow to become the biggest boy band in the world.

I hit send. it's official. within minutes I got all kinds of notifications some read

"This is a joke he'd never leave."

"I'm never listening to IM5 ever again."

some were good though

"Dalton even though it saddens me that you are leaving I wish you the best in your future. keep being awesome. I love you"

I checked tumblr. it was amazing. 5ers were actually coming together. sending a group hug to everyone. I went to bed knowing I made to right decision for myself. I fell asleep instantly.
