Chapter 22: driving to Texas

--- Jenny's point of view---

Dalton, my mom and I were in the car driving to Texas. Dalton and I were sitting in the back and my mom was in the front driving. we were listening to the radio. singing every song we knew. I was off key, like always, but dalton was perfect. hitting every note just right. occasionally he would make his voice sound bad to make me laugh.
"I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL!" I screamed
"NO TURN IT OFF!" dalton shrieked. "IT BURNS!" He was covering his ears bending over as if he was in pain. I plugged my phone in to the car to play the music on my phone.
"How about a throw back?"
Personal insane asylum started blaring through the speakers of the car. dalton was jamming out playing the air guitar and singing along. when the song was over I played 'all of me' by john legend. Dalton held my hand
"All of me love all of you." dalton sang looking in to my eyes. "Love your curves and all you're edges all your perfect imperfections." he sang the whole song to me holding my hand occasionally kissing my check. as much as I wanted to sing along I could interrupt Dalton's beautiful voice with my horrible voice. I just sat there smiling staring at him. watching his mouth then his eyes and back to his mouth. completely forgetting my mom was there he kissed my lips. his tongue was begging for entry into my mouth, I allowed it. my mom coughed awkwardly reminding us that she was there. dalton blushed and I just giggled
"Sorry mom." I turned on Rolling Stones.
"Ahh yes stones!!" dalton yelled. he was jamming out going back in forth between air guitar and drums.
-skip rest of car-
"We're here!" my mom yelled waking us up.
"Hey were at my house!"" Dalton said smiling getting out if the car.
"Surprise!!" my mom yelled
"I thought dalton was moving into a house near grandma."
"He is. his mom and sisters wanted to see him and sunnyville is on the way to grandmas so I told them we'd stop."
"DALTON!!" Sophie yelled running out side
"Soph!" dalton opened his arm for her to jump in to and he swung her around. he out her down.
"Hey Sophie" I smiled she hugged me
"Hey Jenny!" Sophie smiled back
"ahh dalton!" rebacca yelled hugging him then me
followed by their mom
"My baby boy is home" mrs. Rapattoni screamed
Dalton had a mix of anger and embarrassment across his face
"Mom stop calling my that."
"Sorry dalton my big son is home!" she said hugging him again. "Okay I have dinner ready for everyone. come on in." we followed her to the kitchen where the table is.
After dinner some of Dalton's old childhood friends came over.
"Dalton you're looking good."
His friend Nate said. Laughing dalton said back "you're not to bad your self."
"Hey buddy" another friend said hugging him "long time no see."
"Alex! It's been way to long."
"So who's the hot girl?" Nate said walking over towards me. That was a nasty comment. I hate being called 'hot'. I guess my face showed I didn't like it. Dalton's face got mad.
"Dalton calm down." I whispered in his ear
"This beautiful girl is my girlfriend, Jenny." I smiled a little
"Hi I'm Jenny." I waved at the boys.
"Hello Jenny" Alex said
After we hung out with them for a little we decided to leave cause
it was only another 30 minutes to get to where dalton was staying we helped him unpack. And my mom and I left for my grandmas. we unpacked my stuff and went to bed.
---next day---
"Bye mom. have a safe flight." I kissed her as she got out of the car. dalton who was in the back came and sat in front with me. my mom decided to leave the car here so I could get to cheer easier.
"I'm going to miss you Jenny."
"I'm gonna miss you to. now go before you miss your flight. Call me when you land."
"Okay I will. And no funny business." she said looking at dalton then at me.
"Of coarse mrs. Pendery." dalton smiled and we waved good bye as my mom turned to face to airport and walked inside.
