"IERO!" Mr. James, the teacher, yells at the new kid.

He jumps up out of his seat.

"It's eye-ear-oh..." He mumbles.

"What did you just say?" Mr. James snaps.

"Nothing, Sir."

"Did you finish your assignments?"

"Well, see I-"

"Did you?"

Iero looks to the side and grabs his arm awkwardly.

"Did you, or did you not, finish your assignments?!"

"No.."

"Two weeks detention."

"Mr. James I-"

"Don't want to hear it."

"But-"

"ZIP IT, IERO."

Iero sits back down.

Mr. James walks to his desk and begins role-call.

I turn to Iero and whisper.

"Is that your name? Iero?"

"It's my last name.." He replies.

"What was it you were mumbling?"

"It's pronounced eye-ear-oh, but he refuses to acknowledge that."

"Oh.. What's your first name?"

"It's Frank.."

"Why was he yelling at you about your assignments?"

"You sure ask a lot of questions." He says grabbing a pen from his backpack

"Sorry, just curious." I say.

He sighs,

"Well I'm new; I've got a lot of work to catch up on."

"Wait, you shouldn't have to do that. You should just be able to start off from the newest assignment."

He shrugs and continues to work.

"That's not fair.." I mumble.

"Yeah, tell me about it."

"CARA!" Mr. James yells.

I hop up a bit.

"Sorry. Here." I say and raise my hand.

"Pay attention." He snarls.

Once Mr. Dickhead finishes role call, he stands in front of the class and explains our experiment.

The T.A. comes around all of the tables and sets a few flasks down on each one. She also puts a couple water bottles full of an unknown yellow liquid on each table.

"Hey.. Do you have any idea what we're doing?" Frank asks me.

"Ah. No."

"We're screwed."

"Let's just watch everyone else and do what they do." I suggest.

"Yeah, alright." He agrees.

We watch everyone mix the strange yellow liquids into their graduated cylinders and stir them.

"So uh, pour that bottle into.. this thing." Frank says pointing to the cylinder.

I pour it in.

He examines the room for a few seconds.

"Stir it."

I grab the stirry-thingy and stir the liquid.
